Hard crash in iOS 8
Playing the campaign as the Brits. 6th or 7th day. AI is wrapping up and about to switch over to my turn and app crashes to "desktop" (home screen). Playing against "Unknown General". When I try to restart the app, it crashes immediately as it attempts to resume the game (right a...

Re: Unification of Italy: Strategy/Tactics????
Yes each fort level adds one squad to the garrison force but having any type of fort increases the size of your squads to medium. So by adding a small fort to a city you go from 1 small to 2 medium squads defending the city which is quite a difference. The garrison squad is the best squad the city ...

Re: Unification of Italy: Strategy/Tactics????
You need a fort to upgrade to medium squads. To upgrade join the city garrison, touch view and upgrade. If you can't afford it you might have to wait. Keep troops in cities when possible as maintenance is halved. Ah hah! This was the original comment that so confused me. Forts don't "enable&qu...

Re: Unification of Italy: AAR (with Photos)
I didn't realize village/town/city affects squad size too! I have been pushing hard to upgrade to Cities, so that's good. I had been ignoring Forts, but obviously that was a mistake. Do these squad size affects compound? Or is squad size dictated by the biggest effect? No clue!! :) OK, I mis-read w...

Ok, that makes more sense to me. Thanks!triari wrote:Forts provide garrison divisions. They help your garrison defend the city, if you have divisions garrisoned. Barracks et al are the buildings that make divisions larger, but only those you train after those buildings are constructed.

From the HELP: Village/Town/City Hall: ...increases the size of squads raised in that city... Training Ground: ...allows you to raise higher calibre squads... Feature Request - Fast Forward Battles
Since I can't affect the battle once it is joined, let me skip to the resolution. It's not that exciting to watch the n th battle. I really just want to know how it turned out. Easiest way to make this an option is to put a little ">>|" button in the lower right of the battle screen. Playe...

Re: Unification of Italy: Strategy/Tactics????
1. Ignore who you are at war with. They probably won't come at you right away. 2. Don't target the two small states up in the mountains. It takes forever to get there, that will cost endless resources supplying the armies, and they give you very little. 3. Think historical. The Romans expanded on t...

Re: Unification of Italy: Strategy/Tactics????
Get your income up by upgrading resource buildings and building new ones. Then recruit a few squads. If you can get an army of 6 or so medium squads it might be enough to take on another city. Metal is most useful for troops so grab a city with high metal production. You need a fort to upgrade to m...

Re: Unification of Italy: AAR (with Photos)
Excellent AAR and the screenshots are big help. I am still unclear on small/medium/large squads. You mention that forts let you build larger squads. But then every once in a while, a barracks will show up that seems to do the same thing. And I guess I can upgrade barracks to quartermaster for even b...

Re: Unification of Italy: Strategy/Tactics????
I had the same question, but let me add to it slightly to cut off the smart aleck answers. Please give some specific recommendations on strategy and tactics for the Unification of Italy when playing Roma!!!! That IS the default choice and the one 99% of newbs will make. Thanks!

( Updated : I found some answers by poking around with the UI and a few by re-reading the manual. Would still prefer a more comprehensive tutorial, but glad that some answers can be dug up) --------------------------------- I've just spent most of my afternoon with Legion. Re: Mac-Version
Anyone tried it in Boot Camp? This is not a game that stresses the hardware or uses obscure Windows APIs (guessing, but pretty confident). I'd be shocked if it didn't run in Boot Camp.

Crash (and suspected cause)
I am playing as USSR in 1944 Quickgame. I have just taken Finland's second city (Turku), having taken Helsinki the previous turn. When I click Finish Turn, I am immediately dumped to the desktop. The Autosave has my units and turn progress saved, so I can try it again. It is repeatable. I suspect th...

Quick impressions
I've played a couple games now, choosing to focus on the big land battles on the Eastern Front. I have been a big fan of earlier strategic WWII in Europe games starting way back with Strategic Command through the various incarnations of Commander: Europe through Time of Wrath . I prefer the higher l...
