Re: Why not disembark crew after deploying WW?

If you disembark the crew, do they lose immunity to being pushed back and consequently losing the fortified spot? (Or does being behind fortifications make a unit immune to pushback already? Some game concepts are hard to find the complete rules for.)

Glad to hear it - I've been waiting to do a throwdown between the earliest Cretan and final Byzantine armies!

Re: (L) and (FF) mean what?

I believe the (L) next to men at arms signifies that they use the late medieval model/aesthetics with the full plate armor. They're functionally identical to the men at arms without the (L).

Re: What is next for Field of Glory?

SInce this post written in March, there have been rumours and innuendos seemingly implying the next FoG2 game would be neither a Pike & Shot 2 (Europe 1500-1700) nor a Napoleonic one (Europe 1800+). Of course, don't take that for granted. We have to wait :-) When you say Europe, does that open ...

Re: What is next for Field of Glory?

A more modest request is that I'd like to see a patch to incorporate the newest FoG2 expansion into the Time Warp module. Beyond that, I would love to see East and Southeast Asia added in officially, both ancient and medieval. And then of course another crack at the pike and shot era, building on th...

Re: More expansions for Medieval?

I'd be glad to see an East Asia DLC as well. And then yes, reworking of the pike and shot era into the FOG2 engine would be great too. And rolling East Asia out with the mainline product this time around would be a great idea, as well as filling in other areas that were not covered in the Pike and S...

Re: Field of Glory II: Medieval - Sublime Porte DLC is coming soon

Great to hear! And this now means that FoG II tracks Rome from the very beginning to the very sad end.

Also, are there any screenshots or key art to share for this DLC? The announcements here and elsewhere are just text and a generic logo.

Re: Field of Glory II: Medieval - Rise of the Swiss is Out Now

I agree with Adebar! I've read about the Hussite war wagons here and there on the internet over the years, but this is probably the first time they've been so fully realized in a game.

Re: Asian military innovations in the late Middle Ages.

As for the description of the battle you graciously provided, I want to refer once more to 'immersion'. The account is detailed but I don't know who those people are, what war they are fighting, etc. You simply cannot appreciate a text without understanding its context, which is lacking, even, as y...

Re: Asian military innovations in the late Middle Ages.

I suppose the formatting of the official Chinese dynastic histories - terse annals, followed by more detailed biographies and treatises on selected (usually non-military) topics - doesn't lend itself well to producing an emphasis on decisive battles and campaigns. I don't think there's enough inform...

Re: Asian military innovations in the late Middle Ages.

For China at least, Li Jing would be the relevant medieval military writer. Portions of his writings survive in the Tongdian compendium, and an apocryphal text ascribed to him is one of the Seven Military Classics of China. I don't think you'll find a full translation, but David A. Graff did a very ...

Looks good! And also, does this show two different types of war wagons?
