Skip intro sequence?
Hi, In WitE, is it possible to turn off the introduction sequence that plays before the game starts. Each time I start the game menu and click the [Play Game] button, I have to sit through a 2 or 3 minute intro/credits sequence before getting to the main menu - once was okay, now it's annoying. I'm ...

Re: China DLC
Thanks. I did a boat-load of study on this topic back in the 1990's. There may be more, better sources out more recently that I haven't seen.bebro wrote:Thanks for those links and recommendations

Re: China DLC
Re the points of equipment, naval-wise China was of course no match for the IJN, but afaik we don't have large-scale naval battles here anyway. That's right. The Chinese Navy in 1937 consists mostly of smallish, outmoded river and coastal gunboats. They did have two relatively modern light cruisers...

Re: China DLC
2nd sino-japanese war 1931-1945 will be cool !!! Way cool... but I do think the time frame '31 to '45 is far too big of a bite to swallow - as others have pointed out there is too much political convolution throughout this long, long time-frame for a "war"game to deal with effectively. Mo...

Re: Is multiplayer any good?
We're interested in playing "live" (so to speak) with three players. Any thought on what would be the best approach for that? In the past, we've played a lot of games on VASSAL using a headset and teamspeak voice-communication software. It was about a close as you could get to playing face...

Re: Trouble installing the update
Indeed. I had to do the same thing for 1.7.0 update.Myrddraal wrote:Interesting... You solution sounds like one to remember for others that may see the same thing.
It's very peculiar that I seem to be the only one with this issue. Wish I could zero in on what's different with my system.

Re: Trouble installing the update
So, back at it with success this time :D @Tarrak - safe mode didn't matter, I got the same exact behavior. - Thanks though, it was a good idea. What I ended up doing uninstalling and reinstalling the original game 1.5.8. Then using the Order-of-Battle Pacific Game Menu, clicking on Check for Updates...

Re: Trouble installing the update
This is from a fresh install? (I was going to suggest reinstalling but it sounds like you already have. What did you change to get past your last error? I uninstalled the non-working updated version, including deleting the user files in my user folder. Then, I reinstalled the original 1.58 image ag...

(Why would there be multiple versions? Is this something we need to concern ourselves with when updating?)

Re: Trouble installing the update
Okay, I've finally gotten the original 1.58 reinstalled and working. Then I installed the 1.67 update and now, like a big circle, I'm back to my original update issue getting this error when I try to run the game: Could..... not preload global game manager #0 i=0 Any thoughts, Again, thanks for any ...

Trouble installing the update
I installed 1.67 update and haven't been able to run the game since. Following the failed update attempt, I've tried to uninstall and reinstall several different ways - all unsuccessfully. My last install I've tried to revert to 1.58 (the last working version I had) and after installation I try to r...

Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
These are great Erik - we really appreciate your work on them. Any chance you might be willing to make a 3vAI version of one or two of them (if that's not too hard to do)? Thanks again! -Mark R. Adding a new 'faction' in between existing ones is a major pain. It screws up all victory objectives and...

Unit Stacking?
This seems to be a game with great potential (still NOOB here, getting the feet wet) and I'm looking forward to playing more and hopefully getting some of my long-time, wargamer friends involved. However... I'm curious why stacking isn't allowed; not just in this game (OOB Pacific) but in other simi...

How about this combo: 3x human vs. 1x AI?
Looks like the Alliance Tab in the editor doesn't allow for that.

Decompression Error
Any thoughts why I might be getting this error?
I got the same error trying to install to the default C:\Slitherine directory too.
