Historical Greek Shield Design

Hello guys,

I found this link which I though might be found useful!

http://www.mlahanas.de/Greeks/war/Armor2.htm

It's a good website full of pictures of armour and shield designs - nothing to do with me promise :D !

For that 100% accurate army...

Sorry for my late reply, that you all for the links & tips!

I'm going to go ahead and do some! I've got some French ww2 to base first, but I'll get round to doing my Romans and I'll post pics!

Thanks again!

Flocking bases

Hello,

I've been painting figures ofall eras for years now, but so far I've never tried to base any of them.

Could someone run through what to do to create a standard grassland-flocked base?

Apologies if this has been covered before!

Many thanks!

So should I use something like the HAT "late" infantry sets? ...or could I get away with using Auxiliaries as legionaries? To my mind, the "late" legionary types look rather too 4/5th century...

So would they have resembled the Trajan-2nd c. type of uniform or the "late" type more?
Thanks!

Sieges

Hello,

Having been reliably informed that there are no rules for ancient sieges (nor are likely to be), I wondered what rules could be improvised for an attack on walls. Do any of you have any?

Thanks!

..and why stop with the British in Africa? All other colonial wars can be included! That would get my vote!

Army of the Gallic Empire

Hello,

I wondered if anyone has any information on the uniforms of troops of the Gallic Empire (preferably under Postumus 260-9AD) and any pointers on which sets of miniatures to use.

I would prefer to use 1/72 if possible.

Thanks!

Tetricus
