Re: problem with scourge of war waterloo

Yes, I have the same issue. There are some suggestions on this page. https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 0&t=282427. Hasn't worked for me yet, though.

Re: How to use Mamluk Egyptian

Great post, thank you. I wanted a Mamluk Egyptian army back in WRG 7th edition days, and have used it with DBM and FoG, but never thought of a strategy this intricate. Wonderful explanation.

Re: Italian Campaign 2.0 (v.1.4 on 9th Dec 2012)-New d.load

I'm really happy you like the mod. :) You are a real hero with that style of fighting! On which difficulty are you playing? I have to say I played on Rommel with scenario reloads only (without ingame reloads). Still it was very hard even for me...and if I would have lost core units I surely wouldn'...

Re: Italian Campaign 2.0 (v.1.4 on 9th Dec 2012)-New d.load

Fantastic mod! Thank you very much for such an enjoyable experience. I was diagnosed with a weak spot for the Italians after too many episodes of 'Allo 'allo, so now I am stuck with an Italian miniature army for Flames of War and an urge to play this mod until the early morning :| I love the difficu...

The Early German list could use some more distinction between tribes in my opinion. - Tacitus mentions that the Batavi and Chatti were the most courageous of the German tribes, which would warrant Superior status. - The Tencteri were considered skilled and expert horsemen, why they are classified as...

I have played it the same way. Declare the charge, LH evade, Impact then conform. FoG normally make it easier to make contact, not harder, so it is within the spirit of the rules. A smart defender would not let anything like it happen. The defending player has a choice of evading, and probably shoul...

I'm in as well, we have quite a base of Napoleonic players around (Societé de La Grande Armée sounds fairly Napoleonic methinks). I'll try to get one or two of the major players involved as well. My knowledge is mostly on 1806 Prussians. Of course, it would be easy for me to look into Dutch (Batavia...

I would go for Mirliton figures. Who would make better Papal figures than the Italians? Mirliton has a communal range, which suits your wishes nicely, for example C010. Mirliton USA stocks them as well. http://www.mirliton.it/index.php?cName=historical-15mm-italian-communal http://my.att.net/p/s/com...

Gaming in the Netherlands

JM, Fantasy gaming is fairly popular here, let's hope historical wargaming will become just as popular. I am not aware of any wargame conventions in Bergen op Zoom. Have you been there? Tin Soldiers of Antwerp ( www.tsoa.be) is just across the border, though. They host the biggest convention on the ...

I will be vacationing in the area and may try to set up a game. What is the Netherlands FoG scene like? Do you have a local gaming group? Do you know of one in Amsterdam? JM The FoG scene here is mostly individuals playing a game once in a while. The local gaming store in Rotterdam is promoting 28m...

You have just missed one in Berlin from 10-11 January! Eleven players participated in a very well organised event. The unbeaten winner was Ferdi with his nasty Later Medieval Danish. With a bit of luck, there will be a tournament in Rheindahlen (Mönchengladbach) http://www.rheindahlen-wargames.com/i...

You can indeed have more than one allied contingent in an army - you can in fcat have 3 if the list allows  However, you can only have 1 of each foreign ally unless the list otherwise allows more. So for example Early Germans would be able to use two allied commanders of the same tribe? If s...

I downloaded the game yesterday and played until 0300, which is a fairly good indication that I love it. :D Easy to get into, especially with the AI being friendly to the beginning player, but I predict that playing versus a friend will be something totally different. It has a bit of a Panzer Genera...
