Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

Congratulations, really! Finishing a PBEM is not that common because of drop outs. I do agree, though I am in two games which are way past the 125 turn with all but on of the original, 12 and 14 players, still going. Finishing a game though, I have not seen this, so very nice to see. This is a fun ...

Re: Any Multiplayer Games Open?

Interesting discourse. Is anyone else limited by the 16 faction limit? I want to host a 32 faction game and was disappointed that it was not possible. I do think the main factions need human players. Interesting discourse about passwords. I typically play only with those I know, so I use a password....

Re: Great work ! Many thanks !

As always, thanks for your reply. We use manual passwords and we both have our own a dedicated 'game' computer.
We have each retry be successful in playing one and a half turns. It always has issues loading the game file on my opponent's computer.

Re: Great work ! Many thanks !

If you get a message that the save file is an older version then it means that some class files used to store game data have a different version. E. g. if you one of the players hasn't installed the latest GS v4.0 from scratch then an older file might cause this to happen. The easiest solution is f...

Re: Great work ! Many thanks !

What seems to have done the trick is to set the game to play in Vista (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode. We have had a few turns without issue. Thanks to all for advice and help.

Re: Great work ! Many thanks !

Redpossum's solution of re-downloading has worked for now.
If we need the reinstall option, I will report back.

Re: Great work ! Many thanks !

Thank you for the reply. We started a new game with the 4.0 update, played two turns and then got an error massage that the file was an older version.

Re: Great work ! Many thanks !

I do thoroughly agree that this is an excellent upgrade, but let me relate an odd issue. I have a gaming opponent with whom I have played this game since 1.0 version. We both continue to upgrade. This upgrade ran into a problem. We played two turns and then we got a message, each of us, that the opp...

Re: The Client is Outdated

Ok. Hope what I see makes sense. Screen shot is attached. Heaven no, not steam just from Matrix. Using a pc. I cannot find patch version but when I try to update it says downloading 1.04. What I was doing was logging into the Slitherine pbem online system. What I did to get it was to attempt to log ...

The Client is Outdated

This is really odd. I have been playing this game since its release. Today when I attempted to log on I got this message:
"The client is outdated be update " Or something very close.

What is going on?? How do I move forward.

Thanks

iPad does not recognize pc play

I am in a server based game where my iPad does not show the same turn as my pc. The iPod only shows that it is my opponents turn, not the actual current turn.

Ah hah, I think my password was changed (or I changed it I should I say) as a result of the unified login for all web portals.
Works now, thanks.

Re: game wont upload

I cannot do a screen capture as it only captures the underlying screen, not the login screen.

I get the normal login screen, Serial Registered, with the serial display. Message, please login
I click on the check mark and receive this message: login is not correct

Thanks

I have the exact same problem. The menu recognizes me at the log on, but then rejects me from playing.

What files, shots to you need?

Re: CEaW vs Strategic War in Europe

I agree with your AI assessment, but learning, AI does fine. Then I play pbem, but it works to play hotseat against yourself.

Re: CEaW vs Strategic War in Europe

They are both decent games with a different focus. I prefer CEaW for a number of reasons: 1. It plays very easily. Rules are open and simple. 2. The community supporting CEaW is huge, so lots of pbem options. 3. If you primarily play versus AI, the AI is pretty decent. 4. I have been playing this ga...

Re: Hü (Axis) vs Morris (Allies)

Hi Durk. I don't know if this suggestion, picked from a different thread, might help you. What I did was do a lot of hotseating against the AI and save a game immediately before each 'interesting' combat situation and then reload it 10 or 12 times, re-fighting the same combat each time. This gave m...
