just after some advice
what does "A divisional formation (representing a full historical corps) must have at least half its bases as LC" mean?

does it mean that at least half the cav bases in a div must be light cav OR
at least half the cav bases in the corp must be light cav ?

then goes on to say
"inf divs may contain any number of inf units"
and also
"cav divs may contain any number of cav units"
SO
is the min for inf and cav divs 3 units with no max?

I have a BG of 4 Kns they hit a BG of 8 Spearmen
IMPACT -spearmen are disrupted
MELEE- Kns dont breakoff because spearmen are not now STEADY
NEXT TURN
MELEE- we draw the combat
JAP- the spearmen are rallied to STEADY
NEXT TURN
MELEE- we draw the combat
MOVE- DO THE KNS BREAK OFF BECAUSE THE SPEARMEN ...

I read that you can only ever fight with the same number of bases in the impact phase is this right? why?

e.g I have 4 bases in contact ,the other player has 3 bases in contact so we use the lower (3 bases) and both fight with 3 bases each in the impact phase.

A couple of questions

*ME- 1 bg of 8 Pike in a 2 by 4 formation
ENEMY- 1 bg of 4 Impact HF in 2 by 2
