Re: Suggestion: Building wealth is overpowered
I wonder if it would help to have the buildings require some type of worker in them for them to operate, let's call them employees. Instead of a pool, maybe make the number of employees based on the city size. Could keep it simple and have each building require 1 employee to be functional, or have s...

Re: A Crying Shame!
If it's any consolation, my Pandora review pageviews has almost surpassed my Eador: Masters of a Broken World review, which has been published for 7 months. It has already passed my last review (Dominions 4). I'm not sure that this necessarily means anything, but people do seem to be interested in t...

Re: Different weapons
Are you talking about the upgraded version of the same weapon class? For example, the first flame weapon is weaker than the next flame weapon. They both have the +50% vs biological units, but the +% P (power) is greater for the second one. The +% P means that it adds to the base bower of the unit. T...

Re: Suggestion: Building wealth is overpowered
Hmmm, I think it does feel cheaper to get the economic victory because of the ability to produce wealth. I never tested to see how fast one could get the science victory, but since you're limited to 1 tech per turn I don't think I ever made 5% progress per turn. I think it has been 1-2% max. A playe...

Re: Suggestion: Building wealth is overpowered
Well, I won with a rushed economic victory again. This time I even assigned as many of my scientists as workers as my minerals would allow. I was making 4-5% progress each turn some of the time. It did slow down unexpectedly when I was in the 90% range. Factions were still offering me gifts. The red...

Re: My humble suggestions and praise
You have to be really careful when dropping a new foe into the middle of an existing game. If they are too overpowered, it just becomes frustrating. Also it if is focused more than on one faction than another it doesn't seem fair.

Re: My humble suggestions and praise
Expansion is everything, and every goal is easier if expanding. There is no drawback whatsoever to just keep pushing out continuously, which makes for horrible replay value. A science or economic victory should not require you to expand like silly, and the large factions should have something to ho...

Re: Thoughts on Diplomacy
I agree with Hitman's suggestions. I'm not sure how to balance it, but you should only be able to pay off a faction to keep the peace if the payoff is worth it to them. Let's say they have 2 possible targets and there isn't a strong preference on which to attack. Might as well try to extort some mon...

Re: Suggestion: Make AI destroy improvements
That is a good idea jdmillard (to have the tile improvement destruction complete at the start of the next turn)! I think that would open up a lot more strategy to pillaging. I hope Proxy can add this in (AI pillaging + pillaging completing at the start of your next turn).

Re: Batch suggestion thread
12) This one may be a little far fetched, but to me it seems interesting. Have new units (at least ones requiring people) come from the city population pool. This way raising a military comes at a person cost. The growth may need to be rebalanced, but I do think having a human cost to raising troops...

Re: Batch suggestion thread
11) I decided to attack a faction I was friendly with. I terminated my agreements and waged war. This didn't seem to have an effect on my relations with any other factions. It seems like if a faction attacks another faction that they are still friendly with, other factions should deem them less trus...

Re: Batch suggestion thread
10) The unit workshop could be improved if it allowed the player to specify 'best available' for each option to reduce the amount of unit redesign as techs are discovered. Weapons would need to provide choices for best available gun, laser, cannon, etc. Of course best available doesn't make sense fo...

Batch suggestion thread
Sorry for creating so many suggestion threads. It just dawned on me that instead of adding them piecemeal I should just add them all in one thread. Maybe it should be stickied so everyone can add their suggestions in 1 tread and make it easier for the developers to follow. First, as a whole, I think...

Re: Suggestion: Make AI destroy improvements
Thanks for responding! I can see why as a player you'd get annoyed at getting pillaged, but I think the cost of not getting pillaged by the AI is too great to ignore. If pillaging is enabled, then the player has to make the decision to come out of the city to stop the pillaging (and face worse odds ...

I second the fact that turn processing is top notch. Nice and fast (at least in single player), never tried multiplayer.

Suggestion: Tie morale to growth and ...
I think morale would have a bit more of an impact if it also tied into the growth rate for that city. Having people migrate out isn't a big penalty for having low morale. You aren't really losing anything, it is just shifting. It seems like it should do both. I also think morale could become a bit m...
