Re: Feel the Wheel of Steel: Red Steel Review and Discuss
The sole exception to this rule is the venerable meat chopper which had an armored body, a protected gunner position (in firing position the gunner can barely be seen) and a breathtaking rate of fire. It was routinely used for infantry support when the enemy lacked the means to drive it away and my...

Re: Feel the Wheel of Steel: Red Steel Review and Discuss
The two twists in this mission is do 10 damage with partisans and 20 with fighter bombers. Both mean that you have to pick easy targets to achieve them fast. Which means trucks. The Partisans are rather flimsy and dont stand any chance against any unit whatsoever. So move them from forest to forest...

Re: Does Engineer Health affect mine removal?
That is correct: an engineer unit that is down to half strength will only remove around half of the mines in its turnStuccoFresco wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 11:27 am As far as I know yes, understrength Engineer units remove less mines than full-strength ones.

Re: Red Steel the 1st Scenario how to - asks a dufus
It is do-able, the only hard part is knocking out AFV units in the time limit, as they disappear into the forest when you hit the hard. Buy some artillery (122mm A.19's are great), shell the targets and use your armor to swing around behind them, cutting supply. I used my commanders to form combined...

Re: Burma Road AAR
An enjoyable campaign for sure, but I confess I had to invoke the cheat codes to get through the last one. I figure if the AI is going to use jet fighters, super heavy tanks and other stuff that was never made or if it was, never got deployed outside the Japanese home islands, then you do whatever y...

Re: Killing me softly (Burma Road campaign)
OK figured out that one myself: you have to maneuver your units so as to leave only a workers housing hex behind the rioters, then put a single hit on them (taking out the hot heads and ringleaders) so they automatically retreat. Mission accomplished! Next task, relieve the colonial administration b...

Killing me softly (Burma Road campaign)
So I feel like I'm back in Northern Ireland having to deal with rioters without killing them..........how exactly are we supposed to 'disperse' or 'push' the rioting workers back without wiping them out in one volley from a unit or two shots from an armored car?

I do miss Cheese Possessed. Cheese Possessed and Biscuits, Dog :D Along with Jam, plum and the good olde Oatmeal Block - good eating! Not so good were those ghastly canned sausages in the ten man packs (although the bomb sniffer dogs loved them), Soup, Mock Turtle (seriously?) and that deep frozen ...
