Re: Cannon minis choices & safely transporting pikemen
Superglue works fine. I haven't used two part epoxies (or similar) in over 25 years with minis. Use whatever seems best to you.

Re: Cannon minis choices & safely transporting pikemen
For the pikes, I highly recommend replacing them with heavy gauge copper wire. It's inexpensive, superglued well, and (if industrious) you can make decent looking points on them.
The other stuff, I have no idea.

Re: Making Poles work.
There are very few armies that could field forces that could easily stand against the Polish Hussars, but they do exist. And their opponents can cost somewhat less. The more I look at this, the more I think the angst against the cost is appropriate. They should probably be costed to no more than 21 ...

Re: Making Poles work.
I still don't see the problem. One thing you forget is that the Poles will almost certainly cause a casualty in the impact. The opponent will get maybe a 50-50 chance at it. The Poles will almost certainly win the impact causing, usually, a severe and difficult cohesion test. That's a lot of advanta...

Re: Making Poles work.
Why do you think Polish Hussars are so terrible? They get an advantage in the impact, and an advantage in causing a, perhaps, bigger cohesion loss? Basically, they should win the impact and, if they don't, the guys tough (or lucky) enough to stop them deserve a victory. If you gave the Hussars the a...

Re: Units moving while in restricted area
Really? It seems kind of silly to give an example that features troops that are used so infrequently.

So, for more commonly used mounted(battle) troops, the best they can do is turn their tails and halt. yuk.

Units moving while in restricted area
Hey guys, On pages 99 and100 Restricted Areas are addressed. My question is about the illustration on page 100...Battle Group A. Normally, unless light troops, mounted troops cannot turn 180-deg and then also move. Here in the illustration they clearly can. I am assuming this is a special case becau...

Re: Dragoons in combat
Actually, they are "light troops", but they are neither LF nor LH...which is just causing confusion.

Dragoons in combat
why would dragoons not reduce the number of dice ( as would LF and LH) for impacts and melees? Dragoons are 'light troops', and technically both 'foot' and 'light'. Because they are not listed in the impact or melee modifiers for dice, but only LH and LF are listed, it sounds like dragoons get full ...

Re: Ottoman Turks and Early 17th Century Russian, Worth it?
Either army would be pretty awesome, especially with as many superior bow armed horse as you can afford. Both armies are very similar in that they have artillery, some medium musket armed foot, and bow or carbine horse. Personally, I think carbines for cavalry are worthless unless in the early perio...

Re: Can warriors claim to be protected in an enclosed field?
The funny part is that the warriors gain NOTHING by having that so-called protection...not one of the POA's gives them any benefit...even from mounted charging!
I think I see something that needs rectified.

Re: Can warriors claim to be protected in an enclosed field?
If you look up the glossary, where far too many of the rules reside, it says that foot bases entirely in enclosed fields or a village also count as protected. Pg 174. See also pg 126. Last sentence in the top section Also pg 169 the description of an enclosed field. So...ANY foot base...which includ...

Re: Early Danish - Clash of Empires - Cuirassiers
You could probably use just about any cuirassier figure. They all looked much alike. Helmet styles might differ some, but unless the figure manufacturers have done extensive research and visited national museums, it's unlikely you would be far off.

There are three different forms of Noble Cavalry in this army. I am wondering which version(s) would best reflect the troops for Georgia. Anybody have wisdom to impart?

Re: Hungarian flags
From what I can tell, there were essentially two parts of Hungary...Royal Hungary accepted the austrian rule, the other half was essentially Transylvania and under the thumb of Turkey.

Shooting templates available on Yahoo Group
I posted my first attempt at FoGR shooting templates in both 15mm and 25mm scales. Some are full arcs and some are half-arcs...the half arcs are mainly for the 25mm because of their size relative to standard paper sizes (in the US anyway). The 25mm arcs are on 11x17 inch paper...sorry, but it was th...
