Did this ever get fixed?
My 11 year old son is now playing FoG2 Medieval and complained that his infantry units are auto-advancing all over the map - often in pursuit of cavalry ffs.
Can anything be done to rectify this ahistorical behavior?

Re: Automatic pushback/pursuit with infantry absolutely ruins this game
Nothing has changed. 1. 4 years later and games still become a horrible mess as infantry units pursue other units (including, laughably, cavalry) across the map , with zero regard for any flank security. There's absolutely nothing the player can do about it, because this "foot pursuit" mad...

Re: Automatic pushback/pursuit with infantry absolutely ruins this game
I really appreciate the developers presence here and the various suggestions on how to fix this. TLDR: There needs to be a lot more friction so these infantry units can't just slide past one another. I'm working on a replay of Raphia with screenshots to show just how insane the game gets in terms o...

Re: Automatic pushback/pursuit with infantry absolutely ruins this game
I have no objection to the push-back mechanisms, precisely because they introduce some chaos into the game. FOG2 is a game, not a pure simulation. Because it is played on squares, it is impossible to keep the scaling for width and depth constantly valid for all game mechanisms, and sometimes things...

Re: Automatic pushback/pursuit with infantry absolutely ruins this game
Cannae is a terrible example. I'm not talking about steadily pushing back the entire enemy center! What I am describing is relatively small, tactical subunits of several hundred infantry suddenly abandoning the rest of their entire army and going on a cavalry-like mad pursuit of a single enemy unit...

Automatic pushback/pursuit with infantry absolutely ruins this game
I find that FoG II does a very poor job of modeling ancient combat among foot units due to its frankly ridiculous "Push Back"/ automatic pursuit mechanic. While this system (somewhat) accurately depicts the free-wheeling nature of mounted combat (where soldiers fight as individuals), it do...

Re: AT guns too fragile?
I agree that AT guns are vastly too vulnerable in the game. It's rather ridiculous to take out a gun so easily which is in an entrenched position. You simply cannot use the guns in a historically accurate way. Watching SMG-armed infantry take out an entrenched gun position with a single shot makes m...

Sound bug Win 8.1
In Windows 8.1, the sound stops (or, rather, it keeps playing clicking noises) after you come out of sleep/suspend mode. This is rather important for laptops and tablets - which are pretty much the acknowledged future of PC's. I'm using a Dell Venue 8 Pro and will see if it does the same thing on my...

Re: Request: Middle mouse button
Thanks so much! I think you'll find that most gamers today "instinctively" click the mmb when they want to rotate a map. Later, the reviewers can blather on about "Interface Improvements" and the like
Actually, it really is an improvement, isn't it?

Re: Suggestion: Win 8.1 Modern + Touch UI
Ah, I see what you mean. It runs beautifully on my little Dell Venue 8 Pro, so at least the code is optimized! I'll be buying it on iOS was well, so perhaps not a huge deal.

Suggestion: Win 8.1 Modern + Touch UI
Undoubtedly a touch-friendly iOS version is already in the works, so why not eventually do a Win 8.1 Modern UI touch-friendly version as well? Windows 8.1 tablets are gaining popularity. I'm using one right now (Dell Venue 8 Pro) and it runs BA2 very well. It would be even better if it had a touch U...

Request: Middle mouse button
It would be great if the middle mouse button could be used to rotate the screen as most games now do:
Middle mouse + Move mouse left/right = rotate view.
This is especially helpful when playing on a Windows tablet with a mouse. With this one change, there is no longer any need for your keyboard.

iPad - lost all my in-app purchases
I launched the game on my iPad just now to continue my Blitzkrieg France campaign, but all my in-app campaigns are now gone. When I try to go to Blitzkrieg France, it asks my to purchase it in-app again. If I do this, won't I be charged another $10? I think the game may have been updated and that's ...

Blank screen with music on startup. Help
Just purchased the game, installed it on my Toshiba laptop with Intel integrated graphics, and all I get on startup is a blank screen with the music playing in the background. I'm running 1.3.3, using Win7 x64, latest Intel drivers. I've tried changing a few of the OpenGL parameters (but not every p...
