I'm afraid it is and all that is required of light artillery,which is what we're talking about is a cohesion test, which for supported drilled troops with a general in close proximety is fairly easy to pass.

I would like to throw my 2 pennies worth into this discussion if I may and say that I agree with MR RBS regarding the fact that in a 15mm game of 800pts per side the 2 armies very rarley fill the table, a sympton of the rear support rule, agood rule IMHO, which encourages deeper, narrower deployment...

Am I correct in thinking that currently( i.e version 6) rear support can be given by troops that are facing the opposite direction to those in front(even by broken troops) or at any other angle to those in front.
