gwgardner actually covered it. Basically, there were many heirs to Alexander the Great who fought against each other. The eastern part of the Balkans was then ruled by Ptolemy Keraunos if I am no wrong who called himself king of Macedon and Thrace, yet Antigonids also wanted to be called the Macedon...
