Are they viable as masses of foot or will they require something more like a few bg's of sturdier allies or mounted?
Which lists would be more suited and why?

What about troops who fought behind tethered camels as in the DBM moorish list? How will they be treated?

Something for the campaign rules might be the ability to influenece an enemie's ally out of the game.
Maybe by an points expenditure or sacrifice of some sort.

I too am happy with most games being on a billiard table. most rules do not give a good game if one side depends on rough terrain troops. Is AoW the exception?

Of course, that said, a little terrain is fun and gives good tactical possibilities.

I think the title can go two ways. And this is just off the top of my head. I'm sure the design team has thought this through already. So beware of rambling ahead. :) The title could be very descriptive like all Osprey books. This makes sense for Osprey titles since they are meant to be informative ...

Is their any interpenetration in AoW? Can skirmishers interpenetrate their friends? I noticed in the photos of the sassanid roman game that skirmishers were in front of the battle line and then they were not later on.
