Re: Troop numbers when army and ally are combined.
Very approximately, the combined army consists of 25% of the ally army list, and 75% of the main army list. But don't expect the totals to exactly match that, because numbers are rounded to nearest whole numbers, and numbers below 1 may get rounded up to 1. Also some units may be flagged in the arm...

Troop numbers when army and ally are combined.
Is it documented anywhere how minimum and maximum troop type numbers are determined when an army and an ally are selected? An example. If I choose 2000 points of a 600 AD Hindu South army I can take a maximum of 13 (3+10) elephants. If I choose a 650AD Rajput army I can take a maximum of 10 (3+7) el...

Do pot luck multiplayer games always pick armies from the base game?
My impression is "yes". Is that actually the case? Can I get biblical or later AD pot luck choices in multiplayer?

ZOCs yet again
The first game outcome that has really flummoxed me.
See the attached screenshots. A cavalry unit appears to have charged into the primary ZOC of the medium foot unit but attacked the bow unit next to it! Can that be right?

Re: Armored Horse Archers?
Nooo... not like that at all! Like you find in a competition game where the other guy is choosing his army and making his troop selection based on the possibility of having to fight horse archer armies!

Re: Armored Horse Archers?
they may not turn around as easily as light horse but If their morale is good enough and you keep them out of charge reach, they can withdraw without becoming disrupted If you keep them out of charge range they can't shoot, indeed. Unless you play the angles just right, sure, but good players will ...

Re: Multiplayer issue - corrupt or invalid response from server
Another one with the "corrupt or invalid response from server". Happening for a couple of days now. I've checked all the usual suspects eg I can ping your server and do a browser HTTP request to it which returns a reasonable error message in the browser. https://photos.app.goo.gl/APi4JY5Qe...

Re: I've struggled hard to like this game...
But that personal preference is often derived from a desire to play competitively. I found the same fundamental division in tabletop-land. Possibly, competitive PBEM-focused rulesets (or those rulesets which get used in that way, whether the authors intended that outcome or not) need to just accept ...

Re: Classical Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .
Division C
Zardoz02 (Lysimachid 320-281 BC) beat SLancaster (Macedonians 320-261 BC) 74-37.
The Lysimachids had a perfect defensive position on a central hill. Thanks to SLancaster for fighting it out; I probably would have tried for a draw in his position.

Re: Double-Breaks Far too Frequent
In Division A where the majority of players have proven records. If games are played where both armies just collide simultaneously on some axis, someone did something very wrong. Grrrrr.... Completely off-topic but I can't resist replying to the person who made such a useful introductory video seri...

Division C The game ran to the full number of turns leaving Zardoz02 (Lysimachid 320-281 BC) ahead of cromlechi (Seleucids 166-125 BC) at 44-50. More-or-less evenly matched pike armies with the Lysimachid pikes gaining terrain advantage on a hill but still facing difficulties countering the Seleucid...

Can we guestimate the % levels for the basic quality categories elite/superior/average/raw? The manual says "average quality unit will autobreak if it falls below about 50%" so it is different to the tabletop rules. How different, sorta...

Autobreak loss levels
Is there a defined set of percentage losses for the various quality levels in this game or is it more dynamic? In the tabletop rules there is a simple table that tells me e.g. that superior BGs autobreak at > 50% loss. Should I expect to find the same simple table in this game? It doesn't seem to be...
