It would also be historically accurate, though more for the Allies. Air superiority meant the AA weapons either rusted or got used against soft targets.

even if the strategic bombers are shockingly undervalued !! I echo your general sentiment, but I think the strategic bombers are fine the way they are. Certainly would have a lot more trouble fighting through the Brits in the Afrika Korps campaign without the strategic bombers to suppress the enemy.
