It's not that simple. Allowing you to construct an army feeds into the approach that there is a best army, and people will gravitate to it. Gordon the problem originated on a new campaign for the latest release, never loaded from a save* FYI but I reloaded the autosave from prior to the completion of the round to verify

I have a test save I can upload that 100% verifys this bug.. Landraider has 1500exp gained during this combat, if he doesn't land the killing blow (regardless of having his xp bar filled) he will not level. Additionally really hoping for some more choice in upgrade paths, its a bummer to get mele up...

I think the point Ian is missing here is that the consumers believe the inability to manage your army a fundamental problem; and by his admission continuing to polish flaws in the current system would simply be building upon the issue rather than addressing the rewrite outright.

Doubly so when the animation shows a direct hit. Manually targeting AoE attacks makes allot of sense, for the artillery units also as you would on the table top game.

BUG *Area of Effect Dammage*

I do not believe AoE damage is being calculated properly. Once terminators ammo upgraded to AoE they did very little damage on average 10-30 on a side target almost always missing the primary target. This is even when hit chances are 100%. In addition Missile Troops shoot frag missile 4 squares away...
