Re: Movement rules - joining of two forces
Most likely it is terrain. If stack 2 is moving on a road, or Region A is fewer movement points than Region C, stack 2 will catch up while stack 1 is moving into Region C.

Re: Dealing with Persia
Try becoming their client for a few decades while you build up. That’s what I did as Sparta when Athens cowardly submitted to Persian rule rather than be defeated by me.
Got my economy and army going, then broke the client state.

Re: Removing Impediments
The removal chance is 3% per turn. It was 2% before the last patch, which was REALLY slow.

As I understand it, the displayed numbers are always the change from the build decision (at the current time and location with the current trade goods, resources, etc.). That is why they change - especially the money.

Re: Question: Is there any point on having a 0-0 general?
Even 0-0's give a bonus to siege rolls, and having a general is required to use the Retaliate order. If you have the Persia DLC some regional decisions related to armies only work on armies with generals. If you're fighting against an army which has a General and you don't, your troops suffer a pen...

Re: Major temple
I gotta agree with travling_canuck. Trying to show on-screen the history of how you got to your current infrastructure/money/culture/trade range/etc. doesn't seem helpful to the decision at hand. Should paved roads have two parentheses - one for public works and one for regional roads?

Re: After 300 h: Issues and hints on Empires
A minor tweak to slow population and perhaps add some historicity is to jack up the effects of the plague. It looks to me like all plague does is provide maluses to loyalty, health, and manpower for three turns. I've been reading Victor Davis Hanson's A War Like No Other about the Peloponnesian War ...

Re: After 300 h: Issues and hints on Empires
The thing I notice in mid-late game that snowballs is money, even with administrative burden. In mid-game the trade range starts extending, bringing in multiple bonuses for certain structures (mostly trade-type ones). And with a lot of money the player can do pretty much anything. Looking at 147 tur...

Re: How do you implement regional decisions?
The qualifying regions are green. And some of them take two or three turns to complete.

Re: What is for you the least useful overlay on map
To free up another overlay slot you could merge the Political and Relationships overlays. Use the Political colors with the Relationship numbers. Call it "Political Relationships".

In the objectives overlay if you click on another faction their captured objectives are in green. So are yours when you first bring it up.

Re: Finding Objective regions an enemy captured
I guess I don't understand the issue. Sure, Rome starts with two objectives owned - Rome and Campagnia. But do they not lose a token if they lose Rome or Campagnia? All the rest are to be captured, but you know that. So? If you click the objective overlay and click on any nation you can see their ob...

Re: suggested improvements to a great game
Decadence is too tightly ingrained in the game to slash it. What would you do, remove all the culture buildings too? And the culture row on the manpower assignment? Or just leave them dangling? Nope.
There is a Slower Progress and Decadence option in settings.

I have never used the Combat Strength overlay. It is a very tactical issue to bother showing on a strategic map.

Re: Absorb Nation Rome_Carthage (bug?)
Yes, there is a known problem in the notifications where with a peace settlement it says opponent captured then you captured. It is not clear if this is just cosmetic in the notifications, or if it resets the "recently captured" flag (not sure if that is the right name). I believe Pocus is...
