Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm v1.96b
Finally I managed to master the gameplay in this mod, this is the turn 29 (july to august 1942) and the German offensive turned back on every front except the Crimea, Rostov and Voronezh fronts with the tendency to shift to the Soviet side soon. The Finnish offensive fully repealed with the minor fo...

Re: Modern Conflicts (Version 1.2 RELEASED)
More units whose icons have been totally reworked from zero: https://i.imgur.com/4nczbhg.jpg Update 1.3 will pretty big: a lot of balance adjustments, graphical improvements, heroes, new units and ofc the Russian campaign. It will be ready soon. Best regards, Akkula. Good! BTW don't you intend to c...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.8
one Luftwaffe study estimated it took over 3,300 88-mm shells (!) to successfully shoot down a bomber. Don't forget that the main task of the air defense was not to shot down a bomber, but rather prevent the precise bombing, or ideally, prevent the mass bombing at all. Also bombers that were only d...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
I've read the "War on the East" manual and noticed the interesting feature in that game. Actually, in the WITE rivers with low level of ice (1 to 4) make river crossings even harder (harder at 4 than at 1), especially inside the enemy zone of control, than in a warm season, due the unstabl...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
I may note that in reality, the rivers and lakes in winter are still serious obstacles for the WWII era armies, because an ice may be passable not everywhere, not everytime and not for everyone (passable for infantry, but impassable for tanks for example). And even if it's passable, it's still dang...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
And keep in mind the Soviet infantry, at the beginning of the war, was weak in comparison of their German counterparts.... so be careful how you place them on the battlefield. They were constantly beaten/encircled/surrendered in 1941 in reality but new infantry units were constanlty created and use...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
To illustrate the situation. There is the casualties board on the turn 19 (late march 1942).

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Strange situation: Up to the turn 19 I have too few infantry and too many tanks. In reality it was exactly otherwise: relatively few tanks due the industry evac and huge losses and a lot of infantry divisions mobilised till the 1942 spring. In the mod I had almost no infantry reinforcments after Sep...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
I may reveal my own strategy so far. Maybe it leads to a failure, maybe not. 1. I retreated everywhere on the defensive line supported by the natural obstacles and the Stalin line defenses. Initially it was the line Baltic sea - Peipus lake - Velikaya river - forest area down to the Vitebsk - Stalin...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
What are the best defence strategies for the grand scenario in the mod in 1941-early 1942? My stake on the river lines was beaten by the frost. Maybe it was the mistake. I stiil keep retreating east on the turn 17 everywhere except the Karelia instead the counteroffensives. May someone share the exp...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Interesting situation on turn 13: the General Frost is on the rescue, but these pesky frosen rivers and lakes are in fact make it much easier for Nazis to penetrate my defenses on Velikaya and Dnieper rivers. The units of the enemy aren't very exausted in most cases for it seems I cannot rely on any...

Re: ***[MOD] RUSSIA AT WAR:1941
The German and Russian divisions differed in size almost twice in German favor for the most of the war. Is it reflected in the unit stats?

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Do frosen river/lake hexes still have the negative effect on a unit in combat? It seems that the winter may ruin my Dnieper defense strategy

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
It seems that destruction of these bridges should be the top priority :) Let's assume that the destruction of the most major bridges on great rivers is sumulated such way :) Which should prevent nazis from easy hopping over such natural obstacles. One more reason to hold Odessa and Dniestr-Bug gap a...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
I noticed the German 12HP bridge engineer on the Southern Bug river behind my lines on the turn three just north to Odessa. It's entrenched and hard to destroy. Is the placement of it is intentional via script? There is no way it could pass through my defenses unnoticed and entrench up to the level ...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Began the big scenario again with the General difficulty. I may feel the difference by the turn 3 - the AI acts more determinately and somewhat aggressively, attacks on my inits are more coordinated now, both on land and in air.
