Oops, I hope the "laundry list" comment did not allude to my feedback. It was not meant to be criticism- this is, as I have said, a fantastic mod. I just responded to the "open to suggestions" comment for Italy. EDIT: Sadly, there are not ANY superior WW1 strategy games. WW1 Gold...
Italy joining CP in 1914 is very unlikely indeed. There is a very slim chance if Italian alignment starts out very low and British BBs are delivered to Turkey or if Belgrade is captured. Italy joining CP early is a very serious issue and will likely result in a short game in singleplayer mode and m...
Wow, lots of great posts since I wrote my feedback above. Thanks, I will wait for the new version and test again. I played a bit the current version with Moltke-Schlieffen (historical) to get the option with the most events, but did not go through Belgium to delay British entry. This worked, as they...
After the polish campaign 1939, the german campaign Fall Weiss 1939 and the italian campaign Eagles in the Sand 1940-1941, i can now announce the next project. I hope it will make some people smile ;). The project i began working on is a historical campaign, 15 scenarios long. Seven out of 15 have ...
OK, I don't play Quadruple Rommel like others here :) but the Chaos scenario was on the easy side. Not enough enemy air in general (zero fighters), and my units have got too much experience by now. They feel like 1944 veterans, even with their 1939 stats. This is a fabulous campaign, with the variet...
A general nerfing comment, since you are reducing Skanski's bonuses (which I will miss): you might need to cap experience to 225 or thereabouts, especially since you plan a continuation campaign. Said Skalski just got to 402 at the time of the Chaos scenario.
Also: thanks High Command for recognising my supreme efforts so far... with a SE tankette. I guess this is what's left in the cupboard. That's also why prestige upgrade points were invented.
Trudge, trudge, trudge. Squish, squish, squish. I hate mud scenarios. But this was fun. Quite tough - having to choose which 10 units to send NE makes it even more touch and go. I managed with a turn to spare, but it was tough. I even saw TWO German fighters! Things are truly looking grim. On to Kow...
I really enjoyed the Industrial Line - it took me two tries in fact to Triumph it, as I had forgotten how much you love teleporting bridge engineers over "impassable" rivers to convince the AI to flank the player. It worked - they flanked the hell out of me. Second time around I remembered...
The airstrip defence on the other hand was helped by the immediate and complete air supremacy, I know I keep banging on the same drum, but that's the glaring issue: too weak German air. The ground mix is ok; obviously an experienced player will win, but it's not a cakewalk.
Bzura was very nice, well balanced. An experienced player, esp. at Normal/Chess, should have no problem getting a triumph but it needs strategic thinking since the 109s finally make an appearance. Nothing that a well constructed AA trap and a few overstrength Pz11s can't handle, but you can't just b...
The forest ambush was easy with a standard forward defence luring the Germans in forest hexes and smashing them with heavy artillery and MG infantry. Again the Germans suffer from no fighter cover. With 3 Pz11s in the core by now it's easy to gain air supremacy in 2 rounds. On to the Bzura, to try t...
Excellent plan. Looking forward to it. Triumphed the retreat from Krakow. The Luftwaffe definitely needs some fighter cover, now it's becoming easy after buying a a big 75 mm AA in addition to the auxiliary 40mm and two overstrength fighters. The AI predictably has trouble attacking through hills, a...
Thanks. Next mission (apologies, but Polish spelling is too challenging for my old and thick brain). Triumph at Normal/Chess. Well balanced, it takes good handling of a core that is getting more experienced along the way to win, but it's perfectly doable. Again a single 109 or 110 would make it much...
Poznan completed with Triumph. This is rather easy at Normal/Chess as long as you purchase more heavy arty (up to 3 now for me) and a Pz11. If you lure the Stukas within range of the AA then with the 2 fighters (1 gifted with a hero - no portrait here either, but I'm sure you know) you easily get ri...
