Re: "Total War is the Most Realistic Strategy Game"

Most gamers are not grognard, and they dont have deep knowledge of real battles, they say total war is realistic because the battles (comparing to age of empire) indeed look more real (real in sense of Hollywood movies battles).

Re: Ahistoricity of Common Strategy/Tactical Methods in Game

Nice read, if any game design try to implement what the study mentioned it will look like the older Slitherine games battles (Legion, Sparta and Troy).

Re: Field Glory 2 vs Pike and Shot Campaigns

I like the P&S units graphics, looks more representative to the real number of soldiers, I was expecting that it will be same for FOG2 but with little animations and some dynamic.. I know the aim is to make closer to the miniature figures and most people like bigger visible units rather than the...

Re: Would you be a more active player with a LIVE MP mode ?

The only system that made me back to play multiplayer since my school days is the PBEM, multiplayer wont be an option for me with that system, but I agree adding live option will be good for people with good amount of time with no real life interruptions.

Re: Great Battles Medieval fun game and tactically challengi

Hey, was just thinking about this game today and I thought I should post something here, well I was wishing for the first DLC of FOG2 to be medieval, then I remembered this game, played long time when it was released and I had fun, but then for some reason I forgot about it, I will install it today ...

Re: Steam Reviews

Guys, please post a nice even simple but helpful positive review, I just wish the game keeps very positive review for long time (I dont know why game like Pike & Shot went down from very positive to mostly positive, hope that wont happen with FOG2).

Re: New Period(s), New Releases?

Hope we see accurate Graphics representation of number of soldiers, their flags/ shields and any additional weapons and equipment, that will be great for historic immersion for any period. As Matrix/ Slitherine always proofed through many years, they never made the gameplay a second focus, graphics ...

Re: is this game worse than pike and shot?

They are both excellent games of the same amazing engine, I like P&S because I like European history more, however SJ has additional system of C-n-C where generals matter, also the art work and atmosphere is fitting the period and the theme marvelously. I do not see exactly why the steam review ...

Re: Older games availability on Steam

I realize the same, but Slitherine sometimes release older games later (for example they just released Conflict of Heroes on Steam (a 2012 game).
I wish they release more of their older games on a faster rate.

Re: So how is the AI on this ?

I agree, it is more puzzle like, add to that the randomness in combat that lead to winning or utter defeat, so the quality of AI has no much role (I am talking about operation Typhoon did not try the others yet). However, it is still very enjoyable game for its price. Actually, after playing the fu...

Re: Singleplayer vs Multiplayer mode

I used to play exclusively Single player with wargame/ strategy games (I used to play a lot of multiplayer few years back in games like Mount & blade and total war), with slitherine/ matrix games I was skeptical to play multiplayer as I was not sure that the PBEM system will be enjoyable. But a ...
