It makes sense to complete the German side of the campaign before moving on to the Allies. The Allied campaigns in Europe will serve as the proper culmination of the (official content) OOB WWII experience.

Heavy Infantry are a nice luxury due to the mortar ability and firepower. The drawback is they cost a pretty penny to reinforce with veteran troops.

Are the basic infantry or marine units supposed to represent a Battalion, Regiment, Brigade, Company, Detachment or what? I've settled on identifying units as Battalions.

Think of it as only the physical structure of the bunkers are destroyed. The troops inside retreat to be used as elite replacements.
