maybe, during a fight with romans, you get captured, and end up a gladiator, then you join spartacus? that gives a whole other set of battles.

Why can I sometimes not get special equipment like ajax's banner. In my first game, I got it. Then I restarted and it never came up as an option. Also, my friend was playing and he got some stuff I'd never heard of.

I have had a lot of sucess against elephants sending Auxillary cavalry with skirmisher support.
