Worth pointing out the best way to get legacy points after the initial 50 or so is culture/land. So growing crazy big is the main way to hit 500+ points a turn
So even playing the legacy game doing a 1/2 world conquest is the best move. Cant get point fast enough other ways

Re: OPM World Conquest on suicide. Feedback/bugs/thoughts (Yes its possible)
Yes legacy is the win con, doesn't mean it's the best feature. Score was also the goal of Mario games but how many people cared about that? When the ai is getting 500-600 points a turn, there isn't really any way to beat them any ways besides conquering 1/2 the world. My point was that if you only c...

Re: OPM World Conquest on suicide. Feedback/bugs/thoughts (Yes its possible)
Legacy is a fairly bad mechanic to care about. Sitting in the corner not interacting with anyone isn't really a game at all at that point
It's good in multiplayer but vs the ai who cares

Re: OPM World Conquest on suicide. Feedback/bugs/thoughts (Yes its possible)
Not sure how roads and forts contradict each other. Do you want forts in every prov? yes. Do forts limit enemies mobility? no (it might take an army 1 extra move point to assault, not sure). Once an army get access to the road network, they can attack any of 20+ regions a turn. The amount of mobilit...

Re: OPM World Conquest on suicide. Feedback/bugs/thoughts (Yes its possible)
Did you actually try to win on suicidal difficulty? Or that's theory craft: "I can reach 50 regions in size, so I conclude I have won" ... There are mechanisms at higher levels called 'dynamic difficulty' and also 'Manifest Destiny'. The first is a progressive increase in bonuses if the p...

OPM World Conquest on suicide. Feedback/bugs/thoughts (Yes its possible)
First to get it out of the way, technically didn't get there. However its basically impossible to not get there if someone keep playing well. Only stopped at this point because of a bug with the building management which would make finishing the game painful (see bug section). Europe would have been...

Anyone know how to trigger the most important event?
Talking about the event that allows you to buy +5% buffs. Getting that +50% culture buff is fairly important but i cant figure out how to trigger it. Thought it was academies but after 200+ turns and alot of academies only got it once

Re: Fortifications: Yes or No
Sieges are pointless in this game, the only reason to make walls, is to force the enemy to stop at the one they want to take. Otherwise once you have roads, if something gets behind your lines, they can conquer 5+ cities a turn
If your op hellen just build the free walls when you see them

Re: Features/QoL requests
No, notifications are really annoying currently. 90% of them arn't useful, but there are those 10% that you need to know but become hidden in spam. I find the building and pop ones not useful as i build province by province, however the useful how much income you get from raiding is locked behind th...

Milita... they sure do like to work against you... (BUG)
Militia kick everything out of the 2nd line... everything... Those skirmishers, or lightcav +2 support? gone. archers +3 support? gone. Siege weapons +4 support? gone (which seeing as you probably only get them in a city with a ton militia is kinda funny). Not to mention the massive firepower decree...

Re: Monuments: Worth it or not?
The player doesn't get any penalties at higher difficulties (besides the slave movement). The manual clearly outlines this, and iv not seen anything in game to contradict it. Yes you lose 10% decadence a turn, so its a little longer then 10 turns to get to 2.5 from the monuments. As for people sayin...

Re: Monuments: Worth it or not?
Yes its worth it, but the 4:1 ration argument is flawed. Im not sure exactly how loyalty effects at it doesn't specific say but i assume its loyalty/100 * culture. Assuming a large city your probably aiming for around 50 loyalty, so it gives a 2:1 ratio. Depending no the difficulty that may not be g...

Re: Ethnic, loyalty, unrest, and ideal pop size seems backwards
Perhaps, but no citizen, no slot! So the question is moot... Initially, citizens are like buildings with a meager upkeep (one food or two) and can be moved to the job you want. Then later, for developed regions, it might be that buildings take over. Also citizens provide manpower and extra ga...

Re: Ethnic, loyalty, unrest, and ideal pop size seems backwards
bumping this thread because people seem to think culture converting your pop is a good thing.... Note it was written before the change to max 8 unrest for main ethnic. However it doesnt change the fact they are in most cases the worst pop type. Also worth noting as i didn't noticed before but other ...

Re: Regions: Go Big or Limit??
A lot of the loyalty problems come from Ethnicity. It takes a long time to convert a large city to your culture and until you do you're going to have to keep building loyalty structures. This is flat out untrue.... Having other Ethnicity is actually less unrest then having your counties Ethnicity. ...

Re: AI at higher difficulties, kinda weak?
"The game is specifically designed to treat AI and players equally" Well that just bad game design. Also if it was true there would only be one difficulty. "The AI is never going to rack up 5000 Legacy points in 100 turns. But as the player you can do that through min-maxing culture o...

Re: What is cavalry good for?
Not really sure why we are talking about fog2 but cav are very good in fog2 unlike fog:e. fog2 is a game of positioning and routing the enemy. Heavy cav can route any inf if given time to flank and are a extremely useful tool for any army to have. As for fog:e, ya cav suck. You can use them for map ...

Re: AI at higher difficulties, kinda weak?
To reply to the comments of saving troops via FOG or the ai losing troops to often. Losing troops doesn't really matter that much. Most of the upkeep are around 1/5 of the unit cost (with the exception of the units with increasing unit costs). So any losses can be bounced back from in 5 turns if no ...
