Re: smallest device that CEAW will operate on?
Pretty much any small notebook computer, I've had it running on a 13" Macbook Air running Windows under bootcamp, would probably evening run on one those very cheap netbooks with an Atom processor

What happens to the attached HQ if you upgrade a unit to SS
If you make a unit into an SS unit and it has an HQ attached, what happens to the HQ? Does the unit come back with the HQ still attached, or do you need to detach it first (and lose 5 PP)? Am just worried that the HQ might "disappear" if I don't unattach it, but I don't want to lose 5PPs i...

Re: Adding new units & Changing attack range
I suppose a super-heavy siege artillery unit might be plausible, but it should be very slow (max movement 2 hexes, and that negatively affected by non-clear terrain), have a max range of 2, and have very low survivability and ground defence. I would also argue that it's ground attack value be quite ...

Re: Adding new units & Changing attack range
At the game's map scale, it would be pretty unrealistic IMHO to increase the attack range of a ground unit to >1 hex - field artillery could just not fire that far (at least not and still be able to hit the desired target area). If you increased the attack range to 2, then ground units in Calais wou...

Re: Is it so difficult to add new unit types in game?
The game is the wrong scale to model assault guns as seperate units, it deals with Corps and Division-sized units, which already abstract in values for these through the artillery and anti-tank tech advances. Dive bombers would be considered part of the components of the existing tactical bomber units

I can see how it can be done if the UK isn't defended properly (and would be tempted to take advantage of such an opportunity) but usually they are.

Re: HELP! I NEED A FIX! opponent required either side
I'm available if I can play as the axis. Can do a turn a day at the start, but probably a little less once the game develops and the turns take longer to think about and carry out. Am probably around intermediate level, not a beginner, but not up to the advanced level of some of the players on here....

Successful Sealion Still Possible (3.1)?
Given that the Brits can cover pretty much all of the south east coast of England with units and easily rail units to near where axis transports are likely to land, how does one go about trying to execute a successful Sealion, assuming one has enough U-boats to cover the invasion fleet and/or block ...

Re: Paratrooper fun fact
Surely you can spare a garrison and 2 rail? And you get your SS upgrade increase in January so one would think your armor in Russia has little to do, and it is always a bad idea to leave it in the line in winter against the red airforce. So if you decide against it, it will likely be for a differen...

Re: Paratrooper fun fact
Also, bear in mind it's not always convenient to rail an experienced unit from, say, the Russian front back to Germany in order to be able to upgrade it to a para or SS unit, as the axis I'm often using my full rail cap most turns as it is!

Ok what's the best way of knocking Norway out of the war? I attacked in june 1940 with 2 infantry backed up with 2 stukas. The stukas got the oslo garrison down to 7 and my infantry, due to attrition, was also on 7 by the time they were near enough to attack, which did no damage to the enemy. The follow...

Re: Unit deployment in Britain
Not allowing units below a certain strength to launch attacks seems an unjustified restriction given that it would affect many other situations in which a player may wish to make attacks with low-strength units. Seems simpler to restrict placing new units in cities with supply lower than 4. I think...

Well that's what I was thinking, but would be useful if anyone is able to confirm this 100%fangotango wrote:I am pretty sure you have to cause at least one step of damage to force a retreat. Supply level is not relevant, but EFF of 0 means the unit will not be able to cause any damage.
