The only point is Spartans were famous for being laconic in speech which means they didn't talk Interested in how a society could become so powerful without talking, I looked up the word laconic. It actually means "characteristically blunt speech". I would like to submit the two leaders w...

He was also a complete jerk to women! :?

lol, I suppose women were seen as inferior back then anyway, but its no excuse :P

*Feels good for standing up for womankind, although being a man himself.*

"Mum! Get back in the kitchen and make me some pie!" :D

lol kyle, I MADE the first post! The objective is to defend the city for 20 turns. I was wondering if anyone else carried on defending the city after winning the scenario (basically clicking on continue instead of quit at the results screen). I did, and managed to hold the city for another 8 turns m...

So everyone here just gave up after being told they'd managed to hold out for 20 turns?

Meh, you guys aren't true warriors :P

Hehe, I even imagined the dialogue as the 1st hero went down!: "We must hold the city! They cannot be allowed to...uhhhh..." *Demophilius is stabbed in the back by a cowardly Persian* "Demophilius! Noooo!" *Leonidas comes to the aid of his comrad, slaughtering anyone that gets in...

How long did you last..

...on the GoT scenario The Hot Gates? Those Immortals killed the majority of my troops :( , but I managed to hold the city until the 28th turn. In the end just my two heroes were left, side by side, battering their archers. The archers eventually got bored of shooting and just ran at them...lol. Tho...

Yea it is! The town is called Oxineia, a nice hint to anyone playing the 1300 BC campaign (if they are short on wood :P lol) .

Ok, maybe I'm just being picky now, but...

Why have I just captured a city with a woodman's hut in it when the city has a wood level of 0 ?

Perhaps Slitherine could have done a bit more testing? :)

Veterans...nasty guys!

Hi there! I'm still on the same map that I was when I first posted, and still loving the game! BUT, I was a bit confused when I went up againt a small army of veterans. My squads of heavy cavalry (Xystophorai) were all level 12 experience and the biggest squads possible. They had a tiny amount of ve...

Actually, I've just found that although the option to send a diplomat is there, he never arrives. Instead he comes back in the next turn. :?

Strange problem...

On GoT, i'm playing as the Lycians. There are 6 other tribes left, but only five of them are being displayed on the list included on the diplomacy screen. I can still send a diplomat to the tribe (the Pelasgian Argives), but in the game results list, they appear to have been destroyed, when clearly ...

Oh cheers! This is a bit more difficult than Legion, my cities keep getting too full of people and I can't get bricks fast enough. :( Think I'll lie low for a couple of years and attack when I've got my economy sorted. :) I was terribly disappointed when I read that the Lesbians had been vanquished,...

I'm afraid not :( , I just re-checked to make sure.

(Just to avoid confusion, i'm referring to the 1500BC campaign - Greek Colonialism.)

Thanks amigo! Unfortunately "some" excludes every tribe in the Grand Campaign :(

I could play the 1300BC campaign, and leave the City of Troy until last... :?

Any other help greatly appreciated!

World Domination!

Hi there! I'm kind of new (I did have an account on the old slitherine site, but forgot my username). On Legion, I just couldn't settle for 40% of the map! I always made sure I took over everything. It was easy to make this possible with just a slight change to the tweaks.txt. Now I have Gates of Tr...
