SawyerK (Roman/Spanish) defeated bomber23 (Syracuse/Greek) by 65-37.

The Syracuse army was within a hair of turning the Romans left flank but a hastate troop somehow held off three cavalry units for several turns, allowing reinforcements to stem the tide. Legionnaire cohesiveness was key to this victory.

lydianed (Samnites and Gauls) defeated IMC (Macedonians and Greeks) 47-21.

The Macedonians lost their left wing of cavalry early on leaving Sam Knight and his Gauls the freedom to manouevre and pick off stragglers. The two main infantry lines stared at each other across a valley for the whole battle. Good tactical game.

The dice were on the Byzantines' side, for this game. Veteran Muslim spear slammed into average mixed foot and... the mixed foot passed morale check after morale check. The Byzantines' longer line and cavalry superiority broke enough units to rout the Muslims before their left and center gave way.
