Give him the income as the spirit is that I was likly going to concede before you ended the season..

Time dilation: When you defeat the Armenians twice in a battle and while waiting for the Great One to post the new figures for battle # 3 and then are told , season over and must start all over at full ap's because if "you cant make your opponent concede after 2 battles , oh well" :D

Keep in mind I am a very sarcastic person and my griping is in good nature, maybe...
There is a difference between conceding an area and losing an area. If attacker wins that all important 2nd victory then the area changes hands immediately. A player may also concede the area for whatever reason which is timed as when he says it's conceded.

This is a change to the Spring battles as we moved from 650 point to 500 point battles & introduced the 2 wins & it's yours rule. There is also now no reinforcement of existing armies - only an event card can do that.

However please let me know if I'm calling something wrongly here as, despite the kind references to my godliness by some, I'm only a mere mortal

It's not a big deal for me either way. If Rome keeps that income I will consider my contribution for funeral games a plague disinfectant.

Put another welcome mat out for a new player - 24 Triarius.

The Principality of Tuam will be located on the grid to the right of Revoltus. Selected army is Rep Roman (Brutus) and Late Anglo Irish.

So lots of opportunities for new alliances and wars!

I've had more than half of the replies to the setting of your tax rates so progressing well - hopefully will get most of the rest by Friday night (GMT). Play can then continue fairly quickly.

Given that the event cards seem to go down well but got used quickly should we have them each season (except winter) ?

I'd say try the cards each season and see how it goes. If it gets too crazy then reduce them.

Welcome Triarius! :D

I'm OK with having more random events, but equally I'm OK with the original idea too. Ouch is that a splinter I have just got in my bottom!

I like the event cards being used every season, the only suggestion i have is maybe reduce the amount of cards that can increase your own army or an allies or reduce your enemies, as it stands almost 50% of the deck will give these benefits which kinda makes tactics less important.... Not many could a have a chance after a ist battle and your apponent has an xtra 100ap added in. Myabe reduce there #'s a little so they are more unique and thus very valuable tools.

Maybe you could each have half the tax collected.
Maybe the battle ended mid collection

Its all good, Rome still has loads of $, plenty to support armies on the march!
Peter: Rome demands Deeter get the income, no other words shall be spoken of it!

Oh, Peter, do we need to wait for all players builds etc are in before new wars can start?

I currently have 2 battles that started last week, so do they finish up last season or the new season, who really knows when we started the bashing?

They continue over, costing you support/payment. They'll finish in this season. (I think. )

this is what peter posted in the other thread

"They carry on but the results fall into Fall (no pun intended)."

i am really confused... the battle results carry on in # of men , what about the war as considered as a whole ie two defeats etc??
I think, if i start a battle in season summer, start battle 2, is ongoing and then peter declares season changes, battle two is considered done in the fall I would think 2 victories, even spread over 2 seasons would gain one the province?

Why not indeed! just want to clarify I guess in the above example then a war carrying over only has the disadvantage that aps in your army still fighting are charged $ a second time....

Personally, I'd hate to see random event cards introduced every season. IMHO some are too powerful as is and to have them distributed seasonally would be too much. Also there is nothing prohibiting a player from saving their card for a later use. I still have mine to play on an opponent when needed.

Also, Peter, as we already know how armies are recalculated after battles can we simply post the new army strengths with the battle report? It would be a lot simpler and allows checks and balances in their calculations.

Cheers,

Steve

I think Peter prohibits them from being saved!

The cards are powerful, but the seasons so long to draw just once a years which would be like 3 months real time waiting!
i agree though that there are too many cards that are too powerful, namely the reinforecment cards....
Perhaps they should not be suit based... If only one reinf ally card and one plague enemy card were in the deck, for example, they might not even be drawn!

This Just In - New Alliance Announced

Post by iversonjm »

Crimea welcomes Egypt and Parthia (upon receipt of payment) into the greater Crimean Co-Prosperity Sphere. There was much rejoicing as the three leaders met in the Crimean capital to sign the alliance accords.

Henceforward, an attack on either Egypt or Parthia will incure the wrath of the Horde.
