I am being told by a player that using the "Time Warp" can affect the points values of certain categories of units between Ancients and Medieval and could I provide a chart showing the differences. I would rather stick pins in my eyes than spend my time doing something so excruciating! So the rule will be - you may only use the "Time Warp" facility to issue a challenge if you are using an Ancients army against a Medieval one, or vice versa.

The draw for the First Round matches will be held on Wednesday 31st March at 7pm (UK time) live on the forum as usual (any excuse to use my Bingo kit!).

It looks like we have 11 players who do not have FOG2 Medieval, so what I will do is do a pre-draw thingy and pick another 5 players (without looking) who have chosen FOG2 Ancients armies and then those 16 players (11+5) will go into the first part of the split draw. That will give us 8 matches where everyone is using FOG2 Ancients armies and the "Time Warp" will not be needed. For the second part of the split draw I will put all the remaining 48 players in the bag and draw out the other 24 matches. All these players will have both FOG2 Ancients and FOG2 Medieval and they can use the "Time Warp" for any ancient v medieval match-ups.

Play can commence as soon as the draw is completed. I will allow a little longer than the usual 14 days for 1st Round matches and the deadline will be 7pm Sunday 18th April (same day as FOG2DL deadline). The Second Round draw will take place just after 7pm. There may be a few matches where the scores have not come in yet, or there needs to be an adjudication, but most of the 2nd Round match-ups will be clear by that stage.

OK, everyone now has submitted their army selection to me. The reserves could still get in if particular matches do not get under way promptly (by the end of Sunday at the very latest).

Just a few points about the draw . . .

1) it is a completely open draw. There is no seeding, or anything like that.
2) it will be a "split draw" to accommodate the 10 players who do not have FOG2 Medieval and the "Time-Warp" facility. First of all, I will pick at random a further 6 players who have chosen ancient armies to join these 10 players, and then these 16 players will be drawn out of the bag first to complete the first 8 pairings. Then all the remaining players will be put into the bag and the remaining 24 pairings will be drawn out.
3) 20 players have picked FOG2 Medieval armies.
