Re: Unit Badges
What about this style. It will be possible to make every division showing up in the right timeline with the right equipment and the right name on it.
German (allied) SE units can be made in nopurcace. If the game give you a SE unit in the begin of the scenario, you can change it for a named SE unit.

Re: Unit Badges
Auser,
I am going to start my division specific campaign test. I have been learning how to make maps and am still learning how to assemble a campaign. I am debating creating a fictional up division and taking them through the war. Would you be interested in helping me by creating a division badge?

Re: Unit Badges
Ive tested a few of these types in my own games that I had made, are you using some type of template to line the unit badges up or doing each one at a time? They look great by the way!!
Re: Unit Badges

Re: Unit Badges
Hello phcas,
Nice to see that you also use the idea of unit badges. I use it in the original form from the badge panel. But your idea is also interesting!
Have fun!

Yeah after playing in photoshop I came up with a test template so they are all the same size and all located in the same spot. Pain is testing it to see if it look ok on alot of the units lol

Re: Unit Badges
When units get down to 1 or 0 ammo, and that bullet icon comes up, does that lay over or under your badges?
Re: Unit Badges
As I see the warning goes over the badge

Re: Unit Badges
Thats good to know, as I dont want to put them on the other side of the strength button as that would hide city flags I think?

I better start to use a format from now on

Re: Unit Badges
Oké, after a lot of try-out's this is my final badges look. I made the badges a little smaller, the unit tekst is under the strength indicator and there is still space for the "low ammo" indicator.

Re: Unit Badges
I tried making the badges less flat and protruding:
I might need to adjust the levels in shading and lighting

Re: Unit Badges
To be honest, I'm not sure what to think. On the one hand I really like the idea of historic badges to distinguish different units, but on the other, I'm not sure if they'll look too cluttered on a map 'filled' with units. Guess I won't know for sure until I actually see it.phcas wrote:This is what it looks like in the game.
That being said, you've obviously done some nice work, so I'd be totally remiss if I failed to commend you for that.

Re: Unit Badges
Pucas,
I love the way it looks, I just wish I know how to effectively mod and incorporate equipment files so I can use these.

Hello cedonxp,
do you still need a specific division badge? Which unit, tank, artillery, infantry....?
