Thanks, think I'll need it! As before I have neither the core slots or the prestige to get everything I want!!!!!

Next update coming soon!

just a little advice....

if u know you are going to win, and u have some units that are damaged - but in no danger of being destroyed, don't reinforce them because reinforcement in deployment phase in the next scenario will be a lot cheaper. i was doing the same mistake, now i have around 2800 prestige in the low countries which i spent on 3 fighters, 3 tanks (panzer IVd brand new), upgraded old tanks to IVd, upgraded artillery and some infantry units :)

Thanks for the advice, I do try and do that anyway as I realised how much Prestige you can save reinforcing at deployment rather than during a scenario though sometimes I do forget and being an avid no save/reload player I just live with the mistake, so far its not been to bad a handicap

May 30th 1941
Following my success in the UK invasion my Corps has been resting and refitting in Germany, the UK now held by garrison forces.

The past months have seen new equipment available to our forces
Image
Of special interest to me are the Panzer IIIH and IVF Models, essential up-armoured versions of what was available. Also of interest are the SdKfz 250/1 Half tracks which boast better speed and better air protection over earlier models and the 17cm Artillery guns.

Recently High Command decided to double the number of Panzer Divisions currently in service, at first I thought this was a good idea; after all my Corps is made up of three such formations and they have performed superbly in every circumstance. However I later learnt that what they intended was to half the number of Tanks in each Division to a single Regiment, seriously blunting their offensive edge. Whilst my arguments failed to change High Commands mindset they did concede that a “Spear head” Corps such as mine would be better served with the old organisational make up.

During this time I have finally received a third Sturmpanzer Regiment to serve in the 2nd Division bringing each of my three Divisions up to (technically over) strength. I have also received a Bruckenpioniere Regiment that will serve at corps level deploying with the Division that requires their services the most.
My 6 Panzer Regiments all received replacement tanks whilst my Artillery is upgraded to 17cm pieces.
I also received enough SdKfz 250/1 Half-tracks to mount my 3 Grenadier Regiments and to tow my Artillery Regiments.

The final OOB for the forces under my command is now set ready for the invasion of Russia

June 22nd 1941
The past few weeks have seen my forces deploy on the Russian boarder ready for the message I received today
Image

I have several more Regiments attached to my command to support the offensive. In the North the 1st Division along with my Gebirgsjager Regiment and the 7th StuG IIIB Regiment will have the toughest job with the most ground to cover.
The 2nd Division supported by the 20th Recon (SdKfz 232 8Rad) the 19th Anti-Tank (5cm Pak38) and the 14th 88 Flak Regiments will push the furthest east.
The 3rd Division along with my Corps Bruckenpioniere Regiment and the 22nd Kavallerie Regiment have the toughest obstacle to over come at the outset. The Bug river and the Fortifications beyond will not be easily overcome (though the Karl-Gerat 040 heavy artillery Battery will mov e up to support the crossing as soon as possible) If they make better progress than expected then they will swing north and support the 1st and 2nd Divisions advance.

June 22nd 1941 (1)
In the north the 1st Division managed to cross the Niemen river destroying a Soviet Infantry Regiment on the way
Image

The 2nd Division crossed the Bug without incident also destroying a Soviet Infantry Regiment. Their Artillery managed to suppress a Soviet Flak Regiment well enough to allow the 3rd Luftflotte to destroy this threat to their safety.
Image

As predicted in the south the 3rd Division do not cross the Bug in force, their lead Panzer Regiments form a spearhead and hope to break into open space tomorrow. One Soviet Artillery Regiment is destroyed and one badly shot up
Image

The Russians launch several small isolated counter attacks to little effect but the Red Air Force also makes an appearance – so far 3 fighter wings; 2 Mig and 1 Polikarpov the later launching a devastating attack against the 6th Panzer Regiment.

June 24th 1941 (2)
The 1st Division has destroyed the Flak and Artillery Regiments Defending Vilna though there are still several anti-tank Regiments and a light armoured Regiment deployed n the area. They also succeed in clearing the Infantry out of Grodno and the city should be captured within a day or two
Image

The 2nd Division achieved the capture of Bialystik destroying a T26 Tank Regiment as well as the defending Infantry. The Soviet Cavalry threatening their flank was also dealt with today, their drive east can now begin in earnest.
Image

In the skies all three Russian fighter wings were shot down and a Soviet Bomber wing is located close by
Image

The 3rd Division continue to cross the Bug in force. The Soviet Artillery and Flak Regiments supporting the Fortress are destroyed and our Heavy Siege Artillery begin their bombardment.
Image

The bombers turn North and attack the 1st Divisions 30th Artillery Regiment causing heavy damage and four more Soviet Fighter wings appear including another Mig

June 26th 1941 (3)
The 1st Division destroyed an Anti-Tank and an Infantry Regiment screening Vilna and capture the local airfield encircling the city.
Image

In the air my Luftflotte has destroyed two Soviet Fighter Wings and badly damaged their bombers
Image

The 2nd Division have destroyed the last remaining Infantry Regiment around Bialystik and pushed on to Volkovysk destroying a Soviet Engineer Regiment screening the city.
Image

Brest Fortress is now surrounded and under continual bombardment. Its supporting Infantry were badly reduced to its south and destroyed to its north.
Meanwhile I have ordered the 2nd Grenadier Regiment to drive east ready to attack the Soviet flanks in support of the 2nd Division
Image

One of the remaining Russian Fighter wings blundered into the 4th Bomber wing (I can see no other reason for them to think they could survive such an encounter) One of my Fighter wings were close enough to aid and following the short engagement the Russian Fighters were badly mauled and my Luftflotte should be able to finish them off with little effort. Their other Fighter Wing strafed the newly conquered airfield hoping to dislodge my Panzers with little effect.

The weather has remained favourable so far but the next few days are forecast to be cloudy

Both remaining Russian Fighter Wings have been destroyed, my Luftflotte once again achieves total air Supremacy.
The last of the Soviet Anti-Tank guns were overrun near Vilna as the Infantry move in ready for an assault and the Panzers drive eastwards capturing an airfield.
Image

With the aid of the 3rd Divisions 2nd Grenadiers Regiment the 2nd Division begins the encirclement of Volkovysk destroying an Artillery Regiment along with an Infantry and Tank Regiment,
Another Tank Regiment is Destroyed by my support Luftflotte northwards over the river.
Image

Brest Fortress continues to hold out against our attacks proving even more stubborn than I anticipated. Even so I order the 3rd Division to head east trusting on the siege artillery to reduce the Soviet defences to rubble and the Kavallerie Regiment to mop up any survivors.
Image

Soviet armour has withdrawn to Barabovichi and one of my Tactical Bomber Wings is badly mauled by Soviet Flak fire

Despite predictions the sky remains clear though cloud is still forecast.

Vilna captured
Image

Whilst the 1st Division has begun their move east towards Lipel
Image

With Volkovysk captured the 2nd and 3rd Divisions have advance en-mass. An Artillery and Infantry Regiment were both destroyed near Novogrudok
Image

Brest fortress still defies our efforts to take her, will nothing rid me off this obstacle?

July 2nd 1941 (6)
It remains clear though cloud is still forecast..I'm starting to wonder just how accurate these weathermen are!

Lepel was captured easily today, the defending Infantry wiped out in one assault.
A Russian T26 that attempted to outflank our position was caught trying to cross the river and annihilated.
Image

Novogrudok was also taken today and the 2nd Division move towards their next objective, Minsk,
Image

Baranovichi has been surrounded and its defending units badly depleted. An Anti-tank and a Flak Regiment destroyed as well as a Tank and an Artillery Regiment forced to retreat with heavy loses.
Image

At last the proverbial thorn in my side has been removed
Image

A Russian Bomber Wing was discovered based at Minsk airfield. My Luftflotte made sure that they will not pose a problem. Also spotted is a large Regiment of Conscripted infantry, though they number many they are ill equipped and badly trained

July 4th 1941 (7)
Still clear skies and now the forecast is that this will continue

One of my Panzer Regiments was ambushed by some Russian BT-5 Tanks, fortunately my battle hardened troops reacted quickly enough before heavy casualties were received.
Regiments of the 1st Division begin to cross the river to capture the undefended city of Polotsk and discover enemy troops in the area.
Image

The Russian Flak Regiment protecting Minsk was destroyed and my troops move into position ready to assault the city tomorrow.
Image
Baranovichi fell today and the 3rd Division completes the destruction of the Russian Artillery and armour.
Image

A counter attack in the south has destroyed the Recon Regiment attached to my command for this campaign. The Russian tanks, the formidable T34's may yet prove hard for my Panzers to deal with.

July 6th 1941 (8.)
It is once more predicted to be cloudy tomorrow.

The 1st Division has crossed the Western Dvina River and now threaten Plotsk with the Russian Infantry destroyed.
Image

I have ordered other elements of the 1st to break off and attack Orsha and they succeed in destroying a Soviet Rocket Artillery Regiment. With the 2nd and 3rd Divisions being held up they will also lead the attack on Smolensk.
Image

The 2nd Division has now surrounded Minsk destroying the Russian Conscript Regiment in the process.
Image

The 3rd Division tackled the Russian T34's but even with air support fail to eliminate them, these beasts are tough and our current generation of Panzers are proving inadequate

The weather men have it wrong again and we continue with perfect weather.

In the north Polotsk and its airfield were captured
Image

The Artillery Regiments have begun preparations for the assault on Smolensk, which is only lightly defended thought one of my Luftflotte's Bomber wings was surprised by some flak fire.
Image

Minsk, Bobrvisk and Orsha have all fallen and Stuka's from my Luftflotte destroyed the reinforced T34 Regiment.
Image

Enemy resistance is all but crushed.

I just want to let you know that I enjoy your AARs very much. Usually I'm one scenario ahead within the campaign so the ARRs are no spoiler for me. But it is very interesting to see how other players mastered the challenge or achieving a series of decisive victories.

I'm checking the forum two times a day to look for your latest updates. Keep going!

horseman, slow down a little .... look at the campaign tree and see where you can have marginal victories for more scenarios which means more prestige, better units, and also u can upgrade your tanks to tiger I in stalingrad, fighters and artillery to have more experience and combat abilities.

I would only do that after my first time through. But, different play-styles for different players.
