Okay, I meant V1.6.6 of course, my bad.

Strange, I cannot reproduce your problems after applying the main mod first and then applying V6.2 on a fresh install (in both cases overwriting the data folder in the main directory).

Working perfect for me.

If Serbia disappears at the start of the game and Russia enters the war this happens because of Serbia agreeing to become a vassal of Austria, which will have Russia DOW Austria at once. This is a possible result of the "Ultimatum to Serbia" event and is by design.

About how to deal with ingame crashes:

First try and see whether the crash is reproducable by restarting from the last autosave.endturn! Do this at least twice!

If the game keeps crashing please provide the last savegame (autosave.endturn) before the crash
or the ctgw.log right after the game has crashed.
Both files should be found in your Documents folder, so look in "My Documents\My Games\Commander The Great War".

Put the ctgw.log and/or autosave.endturn files into a .zip or .rar archive and attach them to your post using the forum's "upload attachment" feature in the bottom left corner of the reply box.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The log is overwritten every time you start the game. Please make a copy of the log after any crash/bug you want to report BEFORE reloading the game.

Alternatively you can just post the "error" message at the end of the ctgw.log (open with editor/wordpad), usually this holds enough information to fix a bug but in some cases the last savegame is required for me to get the "bigger picture".

then its something wrong with random generator, each time during first started game serbia is gone

in 2nd game it remains in ententes alliance

i checked now, its happeing even in that kept potzblitz from the very begining

Tested 5 times with me as Entente.

1st try: CP AI plays Diplomatic Poker

2nd try: CP AI plays Austrian Defense Plans

3rd try: CP AI plays Kaiser's Gold & Schlieffen Plan

4th try: CP AI plays Strike East & Kaiser's Gold

5th try: CP AI plays Diplomatic Poker & Strike East

Also the game plays a different theme each time on the title screen.

@nehi: I've no clue why the randomizer is not working properly in your case.

Just to verify: right-click the data folder and select "properties"

it should have 5535 files and 43 folders.

@Robotron: Thank you for your commitment in the subject case. It's always very important, especially for new players like me. I am very grateful for all of you. You create maybe small, but great team.

1) Game freezing: @Robotron, below please find the few last line copied from ctgw.log:

2) Serbia surrenders: Unfortunately, no new things in my case... I have tried more four times - always the same, i.e. a couple of events pops up including "Serbia surrenders" and "USA surrenders" (I believe same thing as with @nehi). During the installation process I have used two links from the first post on this topic. It is possible that the files from the aforementioned links are not fully corresponding with the files currently installed/tested on your PC?

EDIT: after installation there are: 5528 files and 44 folders in my "Data" folder

5528/44

ive tested just 2 times in fresh and 1 time in old

in each of these 3 tries, serbia surrendered

all three were as 1st game after starting ctgw, in next games it behaves different, as expected

but me+guuzidi cases indicate, that first run always serbia surrenders

ive tried it once more just now and again, serbia surrenders

@guuzidi: thanks for the log. Scriptfix will be available in a moment.

As I mentioned before I downloaded and pasted both the main mod and then the V6.2 update on a fresh installation and it works like a charm.

Okay, just to be sure I installed the vanilla game yet AGAIN.
Then I installed the V1.6.6 update.
Right-clicking on the "data" folder in the main directory, I get the following:

4406 files
41 folders

Now, I have a German setup, so the NAMES of the following stats may differ:

"Size": 814mb
"Size on disk": 823mb

Do you guys have the same stats?

completely new install (steam version, unistalled, fresh install in new/different folder) + 4.7 + 6.2

again 5528/44

0,97 GB (1 052 294 028 B)

0,99 GB (1 063 280 640 B)

looks kinda different than your version...

Well, this quite a surprise. If the "data" folder differs that much in file architecture from nosteam/steam versions then I'm not surprised we got these problems.

I wonder why this problem did not surface earlier.

@Robotron: I just install the game again via steam. After that I downloaded the 6.2 version of the mod from the link on the first page (I skipped the step regarding the installation of 4.7 version). All files was overwrite when ask. At the end my "data" folder status looks like below:

"Size": 839 mb
"Size on disk": 848 mb

Files: 4347
Folders: 43

EDIT: ver. 4.7 + ver. 6.2 --> 5528 files and 44 folders

@nehi, please read carefully what I wrote:

Robo's stats of the DATA folder:
PotzBlitz V6.2: 5532 files, 43 folders
no-steam CTGW vanilla 1.6.6 : 4406 files, 41 folders

Tell you what guys, I will merge the main mod with the 6.2 update and upload this as a temporary solution to see whether it works.

If this will not work, we have a problem since the non-steam and steam version don't seem to have the same architecture.

This might even hint at the MP crashes between players that use the non-steam version and the players who use the steam version.

@guuzidi: sadly your effort to install the V6.2 update without installing the main mod FIRST can't be used to analyze the problem. You got to install the main mod FIRST because it contains the majority of all additional graphics and other stuff.

@Robotron: Yes, of course, I fully understand the fact, that I need to install the "main" mod firstly, and then the last update. I just pointed the number of files/folders in different ways looking a way to support you the best as I can :)

Anyway, the only thing I can do right now is to confirm the number of files after installation of vanilla + ver. 4.7 + ver. 6.2 (the same number like nehi wrote - steam version)

Okay, I'm uploading a new version of PotzBlitz, containing EVERYTHING (containing the old MAIN MOD and the new UPDATE now of V6.3 after the last bug report)

Because GoogleDrive has a nasty habit of canceling uploads, this might take a while. :roll:

Too late. Already uploaded.

So, to be clear, you download this ALL-IN-ONE Version POTZBLITZ here:

*I deleted the link since it was for testing purposes*

Click on the download button in top right corner.

This gives you an archive called PotzBlitzV6.3.zip

Unpack this archive into a folder of your choice.

Open that folder.

Find within that folder a subfolder called "data"

Copy that subfolder called "data" and PASTE it into the main directory of the game.
There MUST already be a folder called "data" or else you are in the wrong place.

If you are asked whether to overwrite that old "data" folder's files, reply with "yes, all".

Start the game and report back. :D

Game works fine here.

I gave you all I got.

I can't help you then.

Must be something having to do with steam/non-steam versions of the game.

Maybe LUA behaves different on newer Windows-Versions too.

I'm clueless.
