Yay, more than 50.000 clicks. Not bad for a mod for such an old game.

and older versions had? its maybe more than all owners, bit suspicious number 8)

mp in vanilla looks definitely dead, even password free games are still remaining there unaccepted

Well, I have at least half a dozen friends (+ me, of course) who really enjoyed the last iteration but only play mp, and are waiting for my signal. (They did find it frustrating to have to give up on the game, after long hours enjoying it, because of the bug, so kinda want to be sure this time they can enjoy it throughout)
plus i have some Candian dudes, including one that translated the original game rules into French, that are willing to give it a go (at my signal that the game is stable, too).

I am willing to give it a test run if you, my dear Robotron, are willing to be my sparring partner (not in sharp competitive mode, just to go through the mp game rapidly and see how it fares.)

@Zombo: so, if your friends enjoyed the last versions then I'm asking myself why they don't jump at the chance to test the new version no matter whether there might be bugs or not?

I'm just the modder. You guys are the PLAYERS.

I invested a hell of a lot of my time to bring the game to a new level.

Is it too much to ask the few players left to invest at least some time do some testing on their own?

But maybe I should not be kidding myself, this game is so very dead that besides myself only two guys are left to play with.

This is quite disheartening to say the least.

Hi guys!

First of all - it's my first post on the forum, so... hello everyone. I'm really glad to be here :)

@Robotron : Very big thanks for your huge work. I need to say, that I'm veteran of board wargames and hex games strategy, with special reference to Panzer General series, since the early 90'. Unfortunately, I heard for the first time about the Commander: The Great War just few weeks ago. I was afraid (after watching the gameplay's and reading the reviews) that the game may be deprived of depth and quickly become repetitive, tedious. I have also heard about the problems with AI (leaving the Western Front by the Allied Forces after Italy's accession to war, etc.).

Fortunately, I saw the info about your mod, and now I'm fully decided to buy this game (I hope this weekend). I'm interested in the singleplayer only, so I hope you you will not stop creating new versions of the mod in the future :)

But the most important thing - and what mobilized me to register on the forum and write this post - the fact that the forum is not very active and new users do not appear too often does not mean that the game is dead :)

Best regards!

What can I say, Robotron, what can I say...

Of course I think everyone who owes this mod a good many hours of entertainment could and should contribute to the testing, as I offered myself.

But then, I can't force anyone either. Most folks have a passive consumer attitude, and some, I dare say, with some reason considering their Real Life commitments...
I'd say you can reasonably count on 10 - 30 people playing the mod without ever wanting to intervene on the forum. Back in the days, I personally knew half a dozen at least

I've been spreading the word, with some success. and I'm still willing to test mp. Even to take a brutal beating by Nehi if need be. Nehi, up for it?

Good evening!

In reference to my last post, I just bought the Commander: The Great War game. Bearing in mind the fact, that the Potblitz mod was the main reason of my interest in the game, my first step was to download and install the mod.

After instalation I tried to start the game and everything runs smooth. I launched the Central Power campaign and it seems ok. My second quick test was to run the Entente campaign and... first concern. Immidiately a couple of events pops up including "USA surrenders" and "Serbia surrenders". As a consequence, in my first turn, there is no Serbia state at all and I am forced to use only Russian forces. Serbian units just disappeared.

I install the Potblitz mod v.4.70 (from the first post link) and after that the Potblitz v.6.2 mod (also from the first post). Can you tell me something about such situation? The installation process was unsuccessful or maybe it's intended intention of mod Creator?

I will be grateful for all tips and advices.

Hi!

I have tried to run the Entente campaign few times after my last post - the same effect (the Potblitz campaign has been chosen, so I beleive, that is not the case). Serbian units dissappeared, Serbia falls and Russia entry to Entente alliance with first turn.

As I said before, CP campaign run without complications. But I notice some serious problem after 16 turn of my game. After end of my turn the game freeze. It takes place suddenly, when AI moves are processing (last information on the screen is about naval AI moves). The map automatically "jump" into the turkish region (russo-turkish border near Sarikamish), I hear the characteristic sound of turning of sheets of paper - like the event pops up - and... the game turns off. It is very likely that in the next turn Turkey should join the war. Maybe this is some kind of bug related with Turkey entry war?

I don't know if it matters, but I am using the steam version of the game.

Thanks in advance for your professional help.

ive got like no issues, dont say such critical, but...

*ive tried clean install just now, its broken as u described, so u have to wait for robotrons magical hands 8-)*

i had previous versions of potzblitz, updated to the latest, which is working fine, i guess there is something missing in instalation files

Thank you for advices.

I made the installation by 4.7 ver. and 6.2 ver. of the mod using the links on the first post. I am quite sure, that I copied the data folder from the 4.7 ver. and after that applied the 6.2 ver. in the same way. I will try to make the reinstall of the game. I hope it will help, becasue the game (with the Potblitz mod of course) really impressed me.

EDIT: Ok, so I'm not alone with my problem. Ahh, I really hope it can be fixed :(

Which versions of the vanilla install were used? V1.66 is mandatory.

Hi,

@Robotron: in my case - version 1.6.6. I believe it's not possible to install another version from the steam app level (fresh install, moreover - first install ever on my PC).
