My Ptolemaics 7% defeated Linko's Indians 42%

The greek Skirmishers managed to absorb som eof the Indian missile fire before the Pikes got to close quaters and rapidly worked thru the Indian Archers. Not much terrain for the Indian to use in this game,

Stew101 (Spanish, with Iberian allies) defeats Najanaja (Roman, with Armenians).
Score 44 - 18.

A monsterous wood on the Roman right allowed the Spanish MI to pour round the Roman right flank, before the cataphracts and Praetorians could finish the job on the Spanish centre.
Sometimes quantity does get the better of quality.

Good game to my opponent.

Eric still way out in front with one match to get through to remain unbeaten. Tabai is clear in second, Nosy_Rat needs a major victory in his 4th match to be in second place at his half way stage . Questar17 has a lot to do to challenge, but has not put a foot wrong so far.

More matches completed do not change things in the top 2. Angus has posted back to back wins to move up the table and join the chasing group.

The ubiquitous Scandinavian foot made the difference in both games able to give back some of the missile fire and with the missiles also better able to stand up the elephants. They were superior in combat to the Indian close fighting foot (if not disrupted) and vastly superior to the Indian archers. In both games sheltering behind a screen of lights (who were shot to pieces) the Scandinavian foot were followed up by Keils and dismounted men at arms who tended to make short work of the Indian foot. Tough in both games until the Danish and Germans got to grips.

Triarii Castille/Leon with Granadine defeats ericdoman1 Volga/Bulgars 62-51

The Castillians only just managed to stay on top of an important hill as the Bulgars shot the spearmen into disruption and into an early lead. However the hill provided a hinge for the Castillian and Granadine knights to bring their superior combat strength to bear. Even so several knight units were also shot up in their pursuits and the ensuing chaos could have gone either way and until the last turn nothing was certain. Thanks to Eric for another good tough game.

Triarii Castille/Leon with Granadine defeats frederic02 Crusaders with Fatamids 68-33

The Castillians turned up with all their knights, camels and the Granadine light cavalry and very few infantry.
The deployment favoured them and the few Castillian infantry held a convenient blocking river line (until shot out of it) occupying the large Crusader infantry force. Meanwhile as the outnumbered Crusaders boxed and coxed the strong Castillian cavalry force only slowly overwhelmed all the Crusader cavalry only finally rolling up the Crusader infantry line in a final collapse. Good game and a spirited and cunning defence with outnumbered cavalry by frederic02.
