My last two battles :

gfs26 (French 889-1049 + Vikings 790-899 allies) defeated GeneralKostas (Viking 790-899 + Breton 580-931 allies) 43-6

... this battle was very soon uphill for the enemy, that was not lucky in the first cavalry clash on the right flank... 3 cavalry units were disrupted after first contact, and that was a clear (almost decisive) advantage for French slightly better cavalry


and

gfs26(French 889-1049 + Vikings 790-899 allies) defeated OmegaOm (Dailami 928-1055 + Armenian 885-1045 allies) 48-13

... the battle was much harder than final score suggests... Dialami infantry was a difficult enemy to defeat, and cavalry combat was balanced, without a clear winner.

Two very hard battles. French prevailed also with a bit of luck.

You're right - I had the losses in your game vs SgtOgre the wrong way round. Corrected it now.

A cagey but interesting game with a lot of skirmishing. Night fell just as the main bodies of the two armies started to fight.

angusosborne (Serbian) defeats paulmcneill (Venetian) 59-29

Paul took a shitload of knights, with perhaps just two units of pike making up the infantry component. The charge was furious, but we managed to get around the flank, my artillery and crossbows were useful, and once we got in behind in ended in a hurry when one of the pike blocks was charged in the rear by pursuing cavalry. A pretty straight forward fight with some lucky combat wins by he Rus which spelled a victory for them. Numbers of spearmen kept the cavalry from being effective.

Morat (Germans) "beat" Rob123 (Vikings) 62-58

So this was effectively a draw...

Early exchanges went the way of the Germans - their massed archers hitting the Viking lights hard. Flank attack on the Viking right made good progress. Then it all unravelled. German forces on the Viking left got cut up and destroyed and Viking berserkers went, well, berserk. In the end only a timely rally of a single unit of German heavy infantry denied Rob123 a win.

Many thanks to Rob123 for a great game. On another day it would have been his win.
