Hey Timid the sook of gaul if you want it you have to come and get it and not just sit on your side of the mapTJD wrote:To RexHurlius and his Legates:
The Allobroges have not been checked. All 4 battles have been lost. Unless this trend is quickly reversed in the next series of battles the map will look like this:
Rome will be severed! Hispania will be cut off. Recall what happened the last time the Gauls got this uppity! Rome itself was trampled by the Gallic horde. Vae Victis! #justsayin'

Now who's being timid here, Rex? Here's a snapshot from the Roman camp as General Rexus Hurlius tries to lead his men to battle the ferocious Allobroges:rexhurley wrote: Hey Timid the sook of gaul if you want it you have to come and get it and not just sit on your side of the map

Cilician campaign news
The consular army in Cyprus now has the Cilician Pirates on the run. Following an inconclusive loss to the pirtates in their initial engagement (26/26 v 35/53) , the VIth Legion has trounced them in the follow on battle (13/29 vs 53/53). Combined with the victory of the VIIIth Legion, The Cilicians look to be headed for eviction from Cyprus.

Hail Noble Senators of the Glorious Roman Republic
As a true Roman, of noble heritage, my troops under my inspired leadership, have once again ventured forth onto the plains of Gaul. As part of our peacekeeping & scientific role, our small force was studying local fauna, when we were confronted by malevolent assemblage of locals under a fierce & fiery chieftain. Thinking to take advantage, while we were finishing our pressed flowers, they advanced in a classic bull formation.
However, we had deliberately given the impression of unpreparedness & incompetance, and had selected a position that was defended on one side by a river & on the other by a series of narrow rills, or channels that could be defended by only a few troops. Inflamed at being thus thwarted, the fiery chieftain and his tribemen threw themselves upon our stouthearted lines. Despite the tribemen showing great valour & determination, amid shouts of "Don't Panic", our forces were triumphant.

Report to the Senate
It is with regret i must report the defeat of the IX Legion to the Pirate hordes. Rome 32/30 Cilicians 49/53.It was a close battle and a great portion of the enemy army was destroyed but not enough to ensure victory. We await our Fate .

Too late to save Gallia Narbonensis, however! Rome is now sundered from Hispania.....
And soon the sons of Brennus will come knocking on Rome's door once again ....

Have no fear, things are going nicely here in Hispania, Sertorius is on the ropes and we shall soon have his head up on display in Cartago Nova. None of the good citizens or soldiers under my governship feels particulary woried about being temporarily "sundered" from Rome.TJD wrote:rexhurley wrote:Fear not I am about to just finish giving the rabid dog a hiding of his ownTophat wrote:BAHH!! TGM, you're the only one not to comply with the request that you provide an email address for tournament updates. It would be a shame if the conqueror of Serorious were the only one left out of the Senate loop.TheGrayMouser wrote:

Re: CRISIS OF THE REPUBLIC TOURNAMENT / Roman Senate
Fellow citizens Gallia Narbonensis may be sundered from Rome however the counterattack has begun the rabid dog, who has a real fetish for sacking Roman camps, has been cleared from the pass exit from the Alps so Rome is safe. Me 16/30 (bloody camp in last turn again cost me threeTJD wrote:rexhurley wrote:Fear not I am about to just finish giving the rabid dog a hiding of his ownTophat wrote:BAHH!! Victory in Spain
TGM ( xth Legion) 12/33
vs
Sertorius (Klaus) 42/41
The 2 armies of Sertorius have been destroyed, his command unit was routed in the final stages of battle, I assume his fleeing men stabbed him to death rather than allow him to bring more ruin upon them:)
If the senate wishes we'll scour the field for his head:) Now off to some merry debauchery with the eager ladies of a defeated foe, Vae Victus!
