Round 5 (addenda) result:

rbodleyscott (Poles, defending) 5% routed.
bloodphoenix (Swedes, attacking) 41% routed.

I have attached a screenshot to give some idea of the remarkable terrain. The right-hand side of the battlefield was almost entirely blocked with mountains. The only one-square-wide pass was blocked by Polish medium fortifications occupied by poorly equipped levies.

As can be seen from the screenshot, the terrain did not give much scope for a frontal Swedish attack, even if such had been desirable. They therefore put the vast majority of their cavalry and foot on their right flank, where they could swing round the mountains to get at the Polish rear. They had massed artillery in the centre. They also sent some troops against the Polish right, but these took so long to cross the mountains they arrived after most of the action was over.

The Polish cavalry were all hidden behind the mountains on the left, safe from the Swedish artillery and hidden from view. The Polish light horse and dragoons were sent forward on the left to provoke the enemy. This worked quite well, with the Swedish cavalry moving faster than their infantry supports in an attempt to drive off the light horse.

As the enemy approached, Polish pancerni (armoured hussars) advanced to form a set-back line to the left of the mountains, while the winged hussars continued to lurk out of sight.

As soon as the enemy cavalry were close enough, the pancerni advanced to screen off the enemy infantry, while the winged hussars charged out from behind the mountain. Meanwhile, some Polish cavalry who had been delayed by the mountainous terrain arrived behind the Swedish flank. The winged hussars made short work of the Swedish cavalry (all average) and fortunately only some of them pursued off the battlefield. The rest advanced to face the Swedish left wing cavalry who were moving across to support their bereft infantry.

However, the Polish flank marchers moved through the wood and charged the Swedish infantry in the flank and rear, completing the Polish victory.

I scrubbed it and awarded us a default 10pts as compensation since we are getting thrashed I didnt think it would change the overall outcome rankings much

I must admit I am worried for Egos though as I have always found him an honourable person to play so something must be up in his real life to prevent his involvement

Battle was fought in woods and across streams, quite messy. The Swedish Salvo Foot never disrupted a Tercio on impact

The infantry battle was still in the balance, but both Swedish cavalry wings were caving in by the time the battle ended. I think I would have eventually overcome the Swedish foot, but, with their attached light guns, they were certainly getting the better of my foot.

I'll try but I'm packing stuff since I have to move next week-end. Our place was repaired in 2012 after the Christchurch Earthquake. Last year the EQC came round and declared the painting and plastering as a "failed repair" So they are coming back on the 20th to do it over.
I'm lucky. The people across the road have finally, 6 years after the quake, got agreement from the EQC and the insurance company that their house is broken and the bulldozers are going in this week so they can get the section cleared and then rebuild on it. This is for a house where when you walk up the drive you can see a wide crack running from the foundations to the roof.

I can only take your earthquake experience as a warning to me. Our 'vacation home' is 15 meters below sea level near the Salton Sea in California. Mt wife insists we insure it to the hilt at great expense; even then it comes with a huge deductible. Our son, a lawyer, urges us to mortgage the property to the hilt and have no earthquake insurance so we can walk away if necessary.
