The Indians won the initiative and sat on a hill firing more arrows than Legolas at Helm's Deep. The Gatae inflicted many casualties to their credit despite the terrain.

In this one Paul went with 6(!) elephants and sent a wild charge against the Gatae right wing, which gradually gave ground. The Gatae won by defeating the Indian center, never routing a single elephant.

Very tough battle, indeed. Some serious hoplite on hoplite bashing. At the end it was hard to find a single unit without a skull...and often not far from two.
