Game 1 Oxford Doubles
Time for cunning plans
Brian Holmes Colonial Dutch Vs Bob Medcraft & Ben League of Augsburg Anglo-Dutch
Simon Clarke & Peter Gregory Hapsburg Imperial Vs Richard Bodley Scott & Don Avis League of Augsburg Anglo-Dutch
Wayne Charlton & Lynette Maxim Later Swedish Vs Dave Allen Later Polish & Lithuanian
Paddy Bray & Alasdair Harley Later Louis XIV French Vs Dene Green and Paul Freeman Later Polish & Lithuanian
Simon LeRay Meyer & Martin van Tol Later Danish Vs Fredric Bohm, Fredrik Bodin Later Swedish
Tim Porter & Geoff Punshon Buccaneer Vs Nigel Emsen Tatar
Luckily some great historical draws and some very unlikely clashes that Tatar vs Buccaneer is interesting
and if someone doesn't turn up you'll get to play the Huron
Cheers
Alasdair

Nigel,
You have a chance. All you have to do is win the draw, go with little or no terrain and do not have a river or a coast. Hit his medium foot or warriors in the open and just roll better dice than Tim and Geoff. Not that hard really. But will you do it!!!!!

Re: BHGS Doubles - Oxford, 26/7 October 2013
Big thank you to alasdair, Tim and David for running the weekend. Also Don, Lynda and Harvey for partnering me. Mongols work for me, but I prefer the LH option. Yes I know dragoons are cheaper, as manoveurable and can go into terrain, but sorry it doesn't just do it for me...
So that's my list sorted for warfare....

Re: BHGS Doubles - Oxford, 26/7 October 2013
I would like to thank our four opponents - Brian Holmes,Tim Porter & Geoff Punshon, Fredric Bohm & Fredrik Bodin and Dene Green & Paul Freeman for great games. I do not look forward to reading Tim's AAR as he and Geoff beat us 25 - 0. We could not hit anything while they keep hitting us.
A great thanks needs to go to Lynette Maxim for supplying lots of the biscuits that were eaten over the weekend.
Thanks also goes to Alasdair for organising FOG R competition and David, Lynda and the rest of the Oxford Club members for their hard work in getting everything organised at the Village Hall.

Re: BHGS Doubles - Oxford, 26/7 October 2013
Well back in sunny Sweden after a spell in Oxford. both me and Fredrik (the tall one) had a great time both at the tables and in general.
Huge thank you to the organizers, thank you for setting aside the time to run a great tournament. Even bigger thanks to all that has lent us small guns, measuring tapes, dice, tea, biscuits, expertise, experience, advise and so on and so on.......
and to our opponents who has not only played us but educated us on rules, tactics and history at the same time.
A small part of the conversation on the plane back:
Fredrik (the slightly taller one) exited drinking hes rd coke
- What a great bunch of ppl
Fredric (the slghtly shorter one) half a sleep with a terrible hang over
- uuuuUU..... i know i told you.......
Fredrik
- yeah i know.... but still there really friendly
Fredric
- I KNOW i TOLD YOU.......
Pilot
- I'm sorry to tell you we will be another 2 hr late taking off due to yadayadayad
Thanks guys
