Many thanks; that worked for me.shadowdragon wrote:I solved the registration problem. When you click on the register button and registration page opens up....the title in the game field is wrong. It reads "Field of Glory - Digital Version". That's the digital game. It should read, "Field of Glory Ancients & Medieval 2.0 Reader". However, you can't change the field on the page that opens up. You have to reload the registration page without game identifier info. Click on this link which allows you to select any game to register:zoltan wrote:I got the same error message when I tried to register my MAC version - is registration mandatory? I have downloaded the iPad version but when I scroll through it I keep getting booted out. The screen suddenly goes black and I find myself back at my iPad desktop screen. Any ideas what I should do?

Think I'll do the usual thing with new releases. Wait a while for other people to find and resolve the faults. And if that isn't done before the paper version is available I'll just get that.

There is some wisdom in that course of action!AlanCutner wrote:Think I'll do the usual thing with new releases. Wait a while for other people to find and resolve the faults. And if that isn't done before the paper version is available I'll just get that.

Re: Field of Glory 2.0 - coming October 18th!
I must say that I am an enthusiast for using documents, magazines and manuals on the iPad.
Consequently I have been very disappointed with the platform used for the new v2 rules. Sadly it's a poor example of whats available and this surprises me when you look at the products used by many magazines and companies like Games Workshop for their games systems.
I have only played with the reader for a short while but have noticed a number of issues.
1. It's very slow navigating about. Although I have the latest kit, time drags while the reader clunks its way back to the contents page etc.
2. Bookmark and search functionality is simply missing. These are now considered standard.
3. The users interface is poorly executed. On some pages the navigation buttons are present but not marked. Put your finger on the wrong bit and the reader will try to laboriously move to another section. This might explain some of the crashes. Although not all of them.
I thought I was being harsh so went and had a play with a games workshop codex and a copy of white dwarf. The difference in speed and user interface was very apparent. The rules look good but the platform needs sorting out ASAP.

I am also being thrown out to a black page on the IPad version on quite regular intervals. More than a little frustrating.

Until Abannan creates a new e-reader version for Android, there isn't any way to run it directly on your Android tablet. The closest you can get would be to run remote controls software, e.g. VNC or something similar, that would let you control and access your PC from your Android tablet. That might work well enough to let you access the rules. I plan to try this with my Nexus 7 but haven't yet.taxis wrote:have downloaded the PC version and working well. does anyone know if it is possible to put it on my Android Tablet? if so how.

Re: Field of Glory 2.0 - coming October 18th!
I just played with this a bit using Wyse Pocket Cloud Companion on my Nexus 7 and Pocket Cloud on my laptop. Response time isn't great but I think it might well be workable for checking the rules for tournament play. It would definitely work better if there was a search capapbility or a more complete index. One advantage of doing this is that I can use the Android zoom capability to be able to zoom where you can't do this on the PC directly or on an iPad based on what others have said.

the iPad version is very sluggish especially in the first couple of pages, but also when searching for a short cut link.
It crashes regularly when using short cut links

Best to also post this sort of thing in the Tech Support forum so the tech people can see and then look into the issues - just posting here may mean useful info is overlooked.

Oh dear - is it me or is this new fangled technology all just a bit shit???
Brand new release and its riddled with faults. Surprise, surprise, surprise!
Glad I was born in an age that didn't depend on instant gratification that then ultimately leads to lots of frutstraion when it all goes tits up. Dont worry though, when V3.0 is out they'll charge you again for the pleasure of downloading a teeny weeny patch to fix it until the next bug appears.
Give me papyrus anyday.

There is no point in buying a product when the usability factor is compromised.
I would buy a 2nd edition book, but this PC, iPAD, Mac approach doesn't make sense when the product isn't searchable, or usable.
