Result of the match between me and Ianiow

ianiow - Bosporan (Mid) 60/59 vs Yann - Parthian 35/38

So I report a victory for myself. The game was a very close one with a kind opponent.

I will be in holidays after 11th July. So I propose to qualify my opponent Ianiow for the next turn. Please contact him if this solution would be the best for you.

Best regards

Yann

Thanks Yann, I've decided the fairest way to find a replacement is to give the first option to ianiow as he caused the highest percentage BP loss to his first round opponent, if ianiow can't play the next round I'll offer the place to the next highest and so on. I'll get the next round put up as soon as this is resolved.

Ok, ianiow has agreed to take Yann's place in the next round and will use Yann's winning Parthian list option.

Same rules as the first round please, 500pt armies, first person in each tie to submit the challenge and PM their opponent with the password, FOW and double move to be enabled. Winner of tie 1 will play the winner of tie 2 within each group. Current deadline for the second round matches to be completed is 20/07.

Group A

1) Robert241167 - Later Macedonian vs iversonjm - Bosporan (Mid)

2) pantherboy - Later Jewish (Hyrcanus II) vs davouthojo - Late Republican Roman (Brutus and Cassius)

Group B

1) batesmotel - Bosporan (Mid) vs Deeter - Later Seleucid (Pre 166BC)

2) Morbio - Later Seleucid (Post 166BC) vs ianiow - Parthian

Any errors or queries please let me know.

cheers
Matt

As the first knockout tourney appears to be going well I was considering firing up a second one, maybe SoA? Would anyone be interested in this? What about having to submit an army list and not allowing any changes to be made to it from round to round, would this be preferable to the current option to make changes as desired between rounds?

cheers

I would like to throw in for an SOA tourney

As for submitting a list to be used for all battles? Seems like a lot of work(at least for you :D )
Would your opponent(s) be able to see the lists of all other players? That would be a lot of info to disseminate

I won't be playing SoA, I don't have it.

Personally, I like the idea of being able to tailor an army to face an opponent, however I wouldn't be averse to staying with one army throughout.

Hi GrayMouser

Good to hear you are interested in an SoA tourney. Yes compiling lists would be a fair bit of work but I'd be happy to do so if it made for a better tourney for the players. If used I'd get players to submit a list to me, then after the 1st round draw would post the lists to the forum page, would be up to players to be honest and stick to the designated list but I don't think this would be an issue... Added bonus would be newer players would get to see how experienced players are compiling their lists which may give them some good pointers... It's only an idea though and I'm happy to stick to the original way if it proves contentious.

cheers

Sounds good, either way, I generally dont tailor make lists for specific line ups anyway

I throw in my hat for with Early Germans, list is already made and awaiting orders :D
Cheers!

I'll join a SOA tourney. Haven't played very much with it so it's still shiny and new.

Hi pantherboy, that's great can you post your list choice here please? Saves me having to chase people later on, will aim for 16 people again if enough interest is shown.

cheers

I'm interested. Later Germans, my choice. (Please don't pair me with pantherboy the first round, this time. To much humiliation in too short period of time :D )

Me thinketh not...since they were oftimes at war with them...ummm...and didn't they end up killing the Burgundian dude???

Oh...on another note...why do the Germans get 6 free BGs at no cost??

Hmm one of the Burgundian lists does get a couple of Swiss pikes(not as an ally either)
Since they were mercenaries anyone theoreticlly get them if they had the dough....
Charles the Bold was the dude that has his head staived in by a Swiss poleaxe, he didnt have any Swiss as he was at war with them!

I dont know what you mean about 6 free units? Never noticed that will check it but I use the list a lot... Which units? Maybe something get messed up in the new pacth?

The units are mobs...but there is no cost to them...other lists charge 2pts each I think
