Waiting the conclusion of the two battles between deeter and petergarnett it would be nice to know the opinion of petergarnett and george123 about the new map. Both deeter and batesmotel likes it so, if we have the ok of the other two players, we could use it from the beginning of the 3rd turn.

About tofman04, though I sent him a couple of messages to clarify his position, I received no response, so I must think he has abandoned the game.
He will be then replaced by razorback 77.

Map looks fine to me.

Deeter & I exchanged moves last night - waiting for him on both games at the moment but we usually do a couple of moves each day & these games are over half way though.

If he'd just lie down & die instead of fighting back it would have been all over by now.

That's right but it would be like demanding a bit too much by him!

greetings to all, I'm glad to join you in this campaign, even if I'm quite a newbie I vow my legion will bring havoc all over the known world on the tip of their gladiums. anyway, I was just joking, ready to enjoy the campaign whatever the outcome. :D

Gallic update

Post by deeter »

Deeter the Gallic One is pleased to report that his wall of honey-dipped naked men have erdicated the upstart Massiliolite invaders from Narbonensis after a particularly bloody and close engagement. The pikey ones, under the able command of patergarnett, vainely attacked the Gauls perched on steep hills.

Results:

Gauls: 35/48
Massiliolites: 47/44

Massiliolite camp looted and I believe one general killed. Plenty of heads to festoon my lodges.

The Punic invaders are also nearly repulsed. Now, if everyone will stop invading me for awhile, I can mount an invasion.

Deeter the Gallic One.

Not only did he stand aloof atop his high ridges but he poured honey down the slopes - how am I supoosed to beat that? Gaint waffles recommended next time.

A good victory deeter with your other one due I suspect.

The Carthaginian invasion of Gaul was short lived - the sign of deeter's naked hordes atop ridges (he is lucky with the maps he gets) scared my men far more than my elephants did his horses.

Again a good victory to deeter.

Naked and dipped in honey, my Gallic fanatics proved too slippery for the Puny army. The punies have been repulsed from Celitiberia at great loss of heads -- thoug I don't recall is any of those belonged to commanders.

Results:
Gauls: 28/48
Punies: 40/40

Let this be a lesson to all who covet Gallic lands of naked men and honey.

Congratulations to deeter for his valiant efforts!

And now, having finished the 2nd turn let's go to the lottery draws of thursday in order to determine the random events that will affect every player.
In the meantime, as soon as possible, I'll post on the other thread the complete summary of the turn and the new map, updated with the last battle results.

Shouldn't I have 5 stability points not 4?

opening 6
Political strife -1
Land battle won +1
Land battle lost -1
closing 5

Also shouldn't I only have 6 treasury points? Six provinces 1 tp each?

Sorry for the mistake, george!
In fact, though the count was right (-1), I made a mistake starting Macedonia with a stability of 5 instead of 6.
About the treasury points you're wrong because to the 6 provinces points you also have to add 1 more point for the suburbs in Macedonia

And now the results of the lottery draws!

Carthaginians: Bari 17 63 39
Gauls: Cagliari 13 41 71 80
Macedonians: Firenze 36 62 12
Ptolemaics: Genova 12 79 66
Romans: Milano 7 5 57
Seleucids: Napoli 48 86 36

It means that the player sequence will be this one:
1. Seleucids [48]
2. Macedonians [36]
3. Carthaginians [17]
4. Gauls [13]
5. Ptolemaics [12]
6. Romans [7]

And the random events that affects the players are the subsequent

Seleucids [86] Political leadership / +1 action +1 stability
Macedonians [62] Naval Technology / +25 in naval battles fought during the turn
Carthaginians [63] Naval Technology / +25 in naval battles fought during the turn
Gauls [41] Invasion / [71] by the Massaliotes in the 2nd province that is Narbonensis [80] managed by the
Seleucid player
Ptolemaics [79] Good Harvest / +1 stability
Romans [57] Defensive Artworks / temporary fortification in a chosen province

So now razorback77 has to declare in wich province he wants to put his temporary fortification within tomorrow at 24.00 GMT, while I’ll launch the challenge against deeter taking the Massaliotes (Greeks using Pyrrhic in Greece without elephants and a max of 6 phalanx).

Then the players are requested to PM me their actions within Sunday at 12.00 GMT.

Oh man! Another invasion of Narbonensis. When do I get a break so I can invade someone? Can I spend point to fortify the place while an invasion is taking place?

Deeter the Gallic One.
Sorry, this isn't possible because the rules say " If a province is already under attack when it comes the turn of the player it cannot be used as a base for any of those action"
