hahaha, one of the strangest tasks as an umpire I've had to do. And adjudicate the special prize for the most sunburnt, ie lobster red, Brit player.

Dave you going to make it? You ready to lose again? Get your excuses ready...bad dice...dust in my eyes...the irish beer.
Yeah, I've been roped into the Barbarian team. There was no Dust, Irish beer or bad dice at Washington was there :)

Mr Allen started off as the strong front runner, but he chickened out with the suncream (which come to think of it, may have disguised how, err, tanned he was, a white suncream coating with red blotches showing through :)).

As we had to recruit another team at short notice, and cope with some unavoidable dropouts it won't be until the end of August that we can get the runners and riders up.

I think the most interesting match is going to be Period 2 France-England.
Two top players with an interesting match up.

Methinks that either Pete has a dastardly plan up his sleeve with a new Ottoman variant or Mr Cut & Paste got something wrong ;)

The Turkish bit is right, however, Pete bribed me with some plastic javelin quivers to allow the Janissaries to be longbowmen

Personally, I think it was a stroke of genius for Pete to bring the Ottomans with shedfuls of Longbowmen.

Specifically designed for taking out other Ottoman armies :)

I am sure Pete will thank me for putting all this pressure on him

I will just re-phrase your obvious error there
