SawyerK leading the Macedonian 355-329 BC army with Greek 460-281 BC ally
defeated
countykgamer and his Macedonian 260-148 BC army with Greek 227-146 BC ally
by 48-7.
The older Macedonians won a medium-foot battle on the left flank, while refusing the pike-laden right. With the left flank turned, the younger Macedonians experienced a cascading series of failures that led to the end. The battle was much more close fought than the final score indicates.

Triarii Roman 199-106 + Spanish (Iberian) 300-10 allies
Defeats (barely)
tyronec Egyptian 570-525 + Kyrenean Greek 630-461 allies
Score 53-61
Desperately close game.
Egyptian spearmen and hoplites gave up early but very effective chariots and very effectively handled massed bows wreaked havoc until the legions caught the bowmen.
Many thanks for the game.

Kroche Carthaginian 490-411BC w Greek 460 44% loss
defeats
Triarii Roman 199-106 with Spanish 60% loss
Three hills in the central area. Carthaginians advanced their left to occupy the hill on that side and could deploy a force in a central hill at outset. Romans concentrated forces to advance on the other central hill with a valley of a few squares between them and Carthaginian right. Skirmishers met in the valley as the Romans shifted their main forces in a move towards the Carthaginian left wing which held the hill. Carthaginian lights, as supported by infantry, got ahead in the skirmisher battle in the valley, but the Roman mass was concentrating towards the Carthaginian left so their right side could not afford to be too delayed by the skirmish and needed to move in support. The deciding area of battle was the Roman attack on the Carthaginian left. The left most Carthaginian units stood firm against Roman charge and were advantaged in the melees that followed. The medium units to their right fared less well and the Romans took this part of the hill. The Roman far right of 2 cavalry and 1 elephant were held up from being able to flank the Carthaginian line by a desperate defence - heavy chariot stood against the elephant in melee for most of the battle. Carthaginian light horse chased down a couple of skirmisher units in the last turn which got 60%. If Romans had another turn they could have won as they had most of their main infantry standing while the Carthaginian foot was very weak after the fighting on the hill and the Carthaginian supporting force was one or two turns from annihilation after having to engage with Veteran Legionaries to help relieve their left wing. vakarr Bithynian 297-74 BC with Galatian 280-63 BC Allies defeats mcfcivo Graeco-Bactrian 250-130 + Saka 300 BC - 50 AD allies 17-42
The initial clashes saw the overwhelming numbers of Bactrian light troops destroy the Bithynian lights and cause damage to the Bithynian heavy cavalry. The Bactrians had a great start, with their left flank guarded by cavalry on a hill and the elephants +lancers holding the other Bithynian cavalry and warbands. However, once the Bithynian medium foot came to grips with the lights, a hole was torn in the Bactrian line. The Bactrian light cavalry couldn't hold the Bithynian heavy cavalry and chariots, which got into the Bactrian rear at a couple of crucial locations. The cataphracts looked like carrying all before them when a chariot charge into their rear caused a double drop - this was so unlike previous games, where it took four units to defeat the cataphracts. Luckily, there was only one cataphract unit and perhaps that's where the Bactrians were weak, or was it just luck that saw another chariot charge into the broken cataphracts and pursue into some nearby lancers and also cause the main Bactrian infantry line to waver? The Bactrians on their left flank hill were doing Ok, with superior warbands forced to charge lancers uphill but the Bithynians sent reinforcements to their beleaguered right flank that kept it going long enough to survive until the end. On the final turn there was no luck for the Bactrians, who experienced a series of routs and push-backs, while the Bithynians rallied. The Bactrians played well, I can't really say why they didn't win! I guess it was all down to the resilience of the warbands and the luck of the Bithynian cavalry and light chariots.

Lunecastle defeats Ulysisgrunt 63-42
A close game against Ulysisgrunts tough as old boots Romans.
However, the Roman elephants had a bad day at the end of some pikes. The last couple of turns moved my

devoncop (samnite 355BC) drew with rockmanbob (Seleucid 124-63BC) 32 to 22
Points :
Devoncop : 32
Rockmanbob : 22
Given the Samnites were loath to leave their forested sanctuary to engage the fearsom Seleucid heavy infantry and Cavalry force and the Seleucids had no desire to emulate the Roman Buchenwald forest fiasco this was always heading for a draw.
Thanks to this opponent in this my final match and all my others in this Divn who all played with unfailing good spirit on my return to the Championships after a few years away.

excubitor (Pyrrhic 274-273 BC) - vs - Asterix_von_TWC(Roman 199-106)
excubitor won: 44 - 11
The core of the fighting took place in the center of a scenic battlefield, on the high plains of a dominating hill with rough terrain. Both sides rushed to take control, but Pyrrhic medium infantry beat Roman light troops and their heavy infantry reserves (due to the disordering terrain). Pyrrhic cavalry was superior in numbers and dominated the right of the Pyrrhic frontline, while on their left, they managed to advance through the Roman light infantry and ended up on the rear of the Roman center. Pyrrhic Pike Phalanxes at the center were matched with the elite Roman units, but the flanking Pyrrhic cavalry ensured a Pyrrhic victory.

SawyerK leading the Macedonian 355-329 BC army with Greek 460-281 BC ally
defeated
mejobo and his Antigonid 320-321 BC army
by 65-52.
This lead in this battle swayed back and forth, largely dependent on which army last had a pike pushback that led to a subsequent flank attack rejoinder. Veteran Pike units were particularly subject to this problem. The end was not determined until the Macedonians were finally successful in launching a flank heavy cavalry attack that led to the break of two enemy pike units. Mejobo led an energetic, well-designed attack and defense, and I wish him success in his other games..
