Divison D
MikeMarchant's Seleucid's (26/34) beat Lecrop's Thracians (50/50)
A closer game than the score might suggest with us each taking a flank, but my centre prevailed and won the day.
Thanks for the game, Lecrop, and bad luck.
Best Wishes
Mike

Division C
Yuknoom's Huns 23/29 defeated mcfcivo's Romans 30/30.
Two Gepid warbands, who I brought by mistake and spent the entire game trying to get as far away from any enemy as possible, were finally cornered and against all odds, got the desperately needed winning shot.

Division C
MikeMarchant's Nikephorian Byzantines (17/36) beat Stefano1967 Italian Ostrogoths (31/28)
I really don't know what happened in this battle. Swarms of Superior Armoured lancers bore down on me, terrifying my poor troops. On my left flank I tried to hide in a small wood and on a hill, but there were archers inhabiting the wood and I didn't clear it until the end of the game. Meanwhile on my right I just tried to mount a holding action, to buy time to gain the wood and the hill. Sterling work on the right not only held up those western Goths, but also gave them a bit of a kicking. My troops on the hill set up deckchairs and barbequeues and settled back to watch as the battle for the wood raged and the holding action routed the barbarian hordes, although I think they were disappointed they didn't get to share in the loot from the camp.
Bad luck, Stefano, and thanks for the game; a good battle, but the Gods weren't with you today.
Best Wishes
Mike

Divison D
MikeMarchant's Seleucid's (29/34) beat Mcfcivo's Pyrrhans (39/37)
A slugfest, as they often are, with the pike blocks battling it out in the centre, with one nervous eye on their flanks, wondering which way they'll crumble. To be honest, I think Andy was unlucky here; the right dice rolls, in the right places at the right time, settled this one rather than any great generalship.
Thanks for the game, Andy, and bad luck.
Best Wishes
