Perhaps my Xmas has come early due to a win over the god himself Mr RBS.

And after a duel frustrated by mountains on one side, rough ground on the other and frontline disected by a deep stream the Carthaginians thwart the push of the Pergamene's. The whole Nyzcar was in front and somehow I managed to hold on when I was down to 58%. Thanks for an interesting game and my apologies for what looks like a steal for you perhaps you shouldnt have pushed over that cursed stream at the end.

Doyley50 (Welsh) beat Bluefin (Visigoths) 49-22. Good game Bluefin,I had some lucky moments there.

Just take a look at the current situation in Division C of Late Antiquity. It has to be the closest division ever, both with FOG1 and FOG2. At the moment, the player who is bottom of the table is unbeaten in 5 matches and has only lost once all season and he can still win the league!

It's been a fantastic season/division! So many great games came down to the wire. I started fast out of the gate with early victories but then my Romans ran into a brick wall with those accursed horse armies…following the footsteps of history it seems.

Bien joue messieurs - well played all around. Would love to spectate some of these last battles

Division A

a draw between shawkhan2 (Lysimachids) and me (Rhoxolani), after 24 turns. It ended up as 50% for him VS 46 for me.

Klayeckles (visigothic) defeats Breogan (frankish) 62-45

The two armies met at a deep stream with steep hills and swamps on both sides...and neither could make any headway. Skirmishers and a few MF bowmen were the prized troops in this extremely difficult terrain, where a lowly javelinman could hold off a superior warband (if the warband is shoulder deep in a streem and the skirmisher is on difficult high ground). an extended slog ensued for almost the entire game. with just a few turns left both armies found a gap in the enemy's flank and dominos slowly began to topple. it was a race...but with the sun droppping below the horrizon, the visigoths managed a final charge (the last turn) that forced a fragmented warband to crumble.
a very different game with the crazy terrain...well played Breogan!

Not only was it a close division, but the I enjoyed playing all my opponents, even when I lost badly.

Weekly round-up
All the matches in Divisions A, B and D have been completed now. In Division A, a drawn match between DzonVejn (Rhoxolani) and shawkhan2 (Lysimachids) means that Sennacherib (Indo-Greek) has finished bottom. rexhurley (Hannibal in Italy) finished with a flurry of victories to avoid finishing in the relegation place in Division B now occupied by FlawlessCorn42 (Ptolemaics). There are still 5 matches to be completed in Division C but Bluefin (Pyrrhic) is now relegated after losing to Peterabb (Macedonians). jjaquemond (Ptolemaics) won the last match in Division D to finish fourth.
