It seems the sound issue has been corrected (some German infantry units when attacking/defending are still using a Flak (?) sound from Panzerzug but I think this is intended, at least the trains have a correct movement sound now!).
Fantastic Mod! I replay a full campaign, 99 turns!

You should just add 4 saved games

1. Moscow - Dec 1941
2. Stalingrad - June 1942
3. Kursk - July 1943
4. Operation Bagration - June 1944

I am now at turn nr 45 on Leutnant difficulty level.

I know that the game is intended to be played at General level but I am not the best player and I wanted to be "relax".
a) I nearly lost Leningrad due to attacks of Finns, but I managed to conquer Finland at turn nr 35. I refused to attack Sweden since I am quite busy in other sectors of the front
b) Germans conquered the whole Crimea
c) Germans are now attacking Tula, one sole Pz III tank was in front of Stalingrad...
d) Germans took many cities jeopardizing my reinforcement by trains
e) We are in July 1943, Germans are attacking in the region of Kursk, they have Tigers and Panthers, I have not upgraded my tanks and I pay the bill now... and my prestige is dropping from +- 7.000 to 4.000 leaving me less chance to fight back. I have to take back cities which bring prestige asap!

My remarks
a) Excellent mod
b) I understand the rule: prestige cannot be used to purchase new units but to update existing ones, so protecting units is of paramount importance for upgrade purpose.
c) Keeping the railway lines (supply lines) in order is vital to bring reinforcements on time
d) Russian air force is weak compared to German Luftwaffe as it was in reality, I feel happy German fighters are not systematically trying to destroy my air units (unless closely spotted) because they could do it without difficulty. It it strange Germans are sending Stukas and heavy bombers unescorted, a tragic mistake.
e) I also like naval warfare, it is key importance to select adequate bombers to destroy the submarines of the Kriegsmarine
f) A message (txt intro file) in game should warn the player at the beginning of the game that the green hexes with a train pictogramme should be left unoccupied by any unit. I made the mistake to put a tank on 1 hex at the precise turn during which the factories were appearing (to be moved to the Ural region) so I got all factories but one. I fear this reduces the total nr of the units I automatically receive as "reinforcement".
g) I liked very much the Atlantic convoys system, player should be aware of fuel issues with aircrafts fighting above ships at sea!

This mod is so good that it should exist on the German side (Battlefield Europe is covering the whole Europe and is excellent too!) with the same map. But it would be an entire new programming task. Let's focus on the Russian side, an already enjoyable experience!

I shall play until turn nr 99. Keep up the good work!

Hi Robert!. First at all, thanks a lot for your words!. I am very happy my project could deliver some fun :)
It seems your gameplay is going quite similar to the historical events!, the loss of one of your factories is harming your war effort for sure :(. But dont lost hope, you can always try to fulfill some of the Stavka request in order to receive some special units (and prestige as well), fight to the last city!.
Please keep us informed about your progress.

Now, I will try to answer all your questions/suggestions:

- Savegames: Good idea, just like McGuba did with his Europe mod. I will try to implement it in the future.

a) Thanks :)
b) Exactly, that is the idea of the core unit concept for this scenario. Keep your units alive and upgrade them.
c) Again, that was exactly what I intended, logistics was CRITICAl in WW2.
d) Yes, the Red Air Force was weak at the beginning of the conflict but then started to improve dramatically (as you will see in your reinforcements later), the key is to keep your fighters and bombers alive and earning experience. Regarding the unescorted enemy bombers there is nothing I can do, its an issue from the game AI :(.
e) Naval warfare is something I wanted to highlight in this mod. The activities of the Red Fleet during WW2 are very unknown for most of the people.
f) I take your suggestion, BUT if you look into the Library you will see there is an explanation about the Green Hexes and Factories entrypoints and deployment.
g) As naval warfare, its another "tribute" for those valiant sailors who risk everything to bring supplies and help to the Soviet Union.
Regarding the German side option, as you said, its going to be a HUGE edition and scripting work so I prefer not to enter in those dangerous waters. For the moment I will try to improve and remove any issues we encounter in the Soviet scenario, but anyway as I announced months before, I hope to work in some German big scenario covering some specific theater of operations of the Eastern Front.

I would like to report one problem I have in my campaign.
from scenario 6 or something like that (first scenario with winter camo) I get crash to desktop whenever I click on certain unit - problem is making AA batery 76mm

When I dont click on any of these units the game works well.

does anybody have the same problem?

Hi jimmydix, thanks for your bug report. I found the issue and I have the fix for it, it will be done by the next update, meanwhile I suggest not to click on that particular unit (or any other 76mmAA winter camouflaged :D ).
Right know I took a break from PzC, since early this month I moved to the Koprulu sector to fight the Amon menace in Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void :P.

And this the third mod last one, how install so that not the Elite mod being destroyed? do i create a specially map that i put the other mods so that the elite mod works?

Hi Farre. Sorry for the late answer.
Eastern Front: Soviet Storm is not compatible with any other mod, mostly because it modifies a lot of content of the game. To enjoy it properly I STRONGLY suggest you to disable any other mod you could be using.

Lol, thanks for the correction my friend! :D

Now I will list the Scenarios included in the upcoming new update:
- Vyborg 41 (already available in 1.5): The Finnish forces attack the Soviet positions in the Karelian Isthmus, the fight for the city is about to start.
- Tula (already available in 1.5): Operation Typhoon has been unleashed!. The Wehrmacht is on the outskirts of the critical city of Tula, a fierce battle will rage on!.
- Kharkov: The Axis forces launch a direct offensive on Kharkov in order to capture this important industrial center.
- Kerch 41 (already available in 1.5): Using the cover of the winter storms, the Soviets launch an amphibious operation to retake the Kerch peninsula from the invaders.
- Rostov 42 (already available in 1.5): Operation Blau is under way, the combined Axis forces attempt to take the "Gate to the Caucasus", but the Soviets will not give it so easily.
- Winter Storm: The Germans desperately attempt to relieve the 6th Army at Stalingrad by attacking the flank of the Soviet ring.
- Little Saturn (already available in 1.5): The Red Army attack the Italian armies protecting the flank of the German offensive near Stalingrad. Be ready to use Deep Battle tactics in order to capture the critical German airfields in time!.
- Third Kharkov: The Wehrmacht counterattack at Kharkov aiming to destroy as many over extended Soviet divisions as possible, and to retake the critical city.
- Polar Star (already available in 1.5): Stavka orders an ambitious operation in order to break the Leningrad siege once and for all. Based on the campaign scenario.
- Novorrosyisk: The Soviets attack the German forces at the important port city of Novorrosyisk.... by land and sea. Be ready to for a hard battle through this stronghold.
- Kuban: The Red Army launch a massive offensive on the Taman Peninsula in order to eliminate all Axis units on the area. Its not gonna be easy.
- Vyborg 44: Now the Soviets are on the offensive on the Karelian Isthmus.... time to fight for the city again. Be ready to face naval battles on the near islands as well.
- Dukla Pass: (already available in 1.5): Violent battle on the Slovakian / Hungarian border. The Germans try to hold the position as long as possible against overwhelming Soviet forces by using the advantage of the terrain.
- Courland: Battle for the Courland pocket. Another Soviet attempt to reduce this stronghold, will the Germans be able to defeat them again?.
- Streets of Berlin: A deep insight of the terrible last battle of the war. Will the Red flag be hoisted on the Reichstag in the end?. An urban battle, be ready to destroy or lose a lot of tanks!.
- Unthinkable: While everyone talk about hypothetical post-war Soviet attacks on the West, the fact is the Allies had plans to attack the Soviet forces on Eastern Europe: Operation Unthinkable by using the bulk of the US, British, French and many German divisions on Europe. Be ready to caught Red Army on surprise!.

I expect to finish them in the next months, also I will include some new units: special and purchasable for both German and Soviets. Also I will continue improving the Great Patriotic war scenario as well.
Thoughts?, Ideas?, Suggestions?. As always I am open to any comment from the community :D

At least I could play on the Soviet side against the West!

When you have time just create a specific campaign with even Red Lion, the invasion of UK...

I am glad I could fulfill your dream Robert :)
I will try to create a very demanding and fun scenario, all the mighty of the Allies against the powerful Red Army, who will prevail???.
Maybe, if in the future, the game regains some popularity again I will try add more hypothetical scenarios to my mod :)

I would like to install this by overwriting (as I do for the battlefield europe mod). so which parts of the whole unzipped file do I use? also does this include the massi tiles mod? do i have to overwrite that somewhere seperately or is it already included. the text file only gives instructions for installation using jgme. thanks for info

Hi Hugh.
If wish to install the mod by using the old fashion way you should:
1- Make sure to have a clean PzC installation (1.23 or higher)
2- Unzip the Massis mod into the game folder and overwrite all files
3- Unzip Eastern Front: Soviet Storm and overwrite all files.
You have to do that following that order and it should work.

A typical Western stereotype and mites ) Interesting American citizens whose descendants were from Japan wrote letters to President Roosevelt which was rounded up in an internment camp ? ;)
