I included Dieppe with a reason: a fallback for several scenario's (loss) instead of quit game, a smaller map, less enemy units, a break from Stalin's boys. Only a fraction of the core can be deployed in this scenario. Let's say your best units who , as the player, are allowed a vacation in france before returning to Stalingrad but it turned out a little different. At least then there is one scenario in 1942 to play against the allies and their brandnew churchill tanks.Ceek wrote:I don't understand the inclusion of Dieppe as an integral component of the '42 campaign. There's no way your core from the Stalingrad scenario would have been able to participate in both scenarios. Also, Dieppe was not a major battle nor was it fought w/ the types of front line units you'd be bringing from the Eastern Front. In addition, it's highly unlikely those same units who'd just been shipped w/ major time and expense across the continent to fight at Dieppe would suddenly find themselves sent back to Stalingrad to liberate the 6th army. In sum, the inclusion of Dieppe, while an interesting idea, doesn't make much sense, particularly in its current status as a linchpin scenario between two interconnected Eastern Front battles.
I'm certain that the guys doing the playtests, and they are doing great btw, will have a couple of suggestions. First i was thinking to make this scenario with auxiliaries only (and 1 new core unit preplaced), but i'll wait till i get some feedback.
Thank you for your insights, it is much appreciated.
