Englandia prevailed in an incredibly close fought contest.

Morbius/Morbio (Selucid) - lose
9,900/4,404 33/33

Englandia/davidfagnand (Pyrrhic) - win
14,100/4,820 46/47

I believe Morbio must return to Morbious?
Incredibly close indeed!

The attacker doesn't have to return until he chooses to. My understanding is that the attacker can continue to fight ad infinitum, although realistically it probably is an uphill battle after a defeat, and almost impossible after 2 defeats!

Now, on the basis that 53 points was a tad too many to give away in the last battle, then 127 will be far too many! So, I think we'll pop our dead on our shields and go home. <salutes>

1st Battle in Samnium

Post by batesmotel »

Phanagoria has discovered that the Nueva Castillians seem to do better against the Swiss than they do against Highland hordes, or maybe just better on the defensive,

Phannagoria/Batemotel (Nueva Castilian) - win
15,000/3,122 20/50

Utopia/Deeter (Swiss - Burgundian) - lose
12,300/5,576 47/41

Points for second battle:
Phanagoria: 448
Utopia: 319

The assassin revenge tour of the Canaan have had both positive and negative results. The positive first:
Canaan vs Phanagoria
Battle of unknown region (1)

Attacker: hidde (Late German)
13200/2654 - 19/44 - WIN

Defender: batesmotel (War Roses Lancs)
14400/5132 - 60/48 - LOSE

We wait for words from the Phanagorian ruler if they want a second battle or if not what region we have taken

Unfortunatly a Canaan army also set out to conquer some Crimean land...
Canaan vs Crimea
Battle of unknown region (need never be mentioned since Canaan forces allready are back home)

Attacker: hidde (Graeco-Bactrian)
12600/4975 - 42/42 - LOSE

Defender: iversonjm (26th Dyn. Egyptians)
16840/3035 - 19/58 - WIN

Bactriane is ceeded to Clan Braveheart by reason of our two defeats in that province by the forces of that land.

Is Scar back yet? My troops grow bored awaiting his to come to battle.

The Covenator's initial attack on Hypoxia has been repulsed in a bloody and hard fought contest.
Judeans: 47/44 5095/13200
Seleucids: 34/37 4426/10820

Will the forces of the Coven continue to battle or withdraw?

Utopian battle results

Post by deeter »

Urged into an unpopular invasion of Arrakis by the Utopian war party (PG), the army of Utopia (Seleucid) defeated the gallant Arrakian (Roman) defenders prsumably in the province of Haik.

Battle of Haik:

Utopia: 12,640/3,910 40/44 APs
Arrakis: 13,220/5,056 47/45 APs

The fighting centered on the top of a steep hill help by the Silver Shield pikemen. Below them were Italian allies (MF) including two extraordinarii who lived up to their name, fighting to the last many over many turns. Ultimately, the Utopian cav came to the rescue, hitting them in the rear and ending a very tense battle.

Utopia will of course continue the invasion unless Arrakis wish to cede the province. I await word of what our new strengths are or for word of peace.

Hypoxia regrets the news that an undiciplined mob of brigands crossed our borders in the north and entered into Morbious territory. Said bandits had raided a Hypoxian military depot and were may have had the appearance of our own troops, but rest assured it was not so. Fortunately the mob was dispersed by the capable forces of Morious and we will take measures to ensure such actions are not repeated.

Perhaps it was the poisoned wells, or the sandstorm blowing dust in their faces, in any case the Hypoxians forces rose to the occassion and inflicted a defeat on the invading forces of Armenia.

Hypoxia also celebrates a victory over the forces of the Delians in a province the Delians have yet to name. Hypoxia will press forward in an attempt to claim the province. The Delian forces lined up with fierce intentions but their commander resigned once the outcome of the battle became foregone. Will the Delians continue to resist? Is there a city for them to fall back into? Inquiring minds want to know.

2nd Battle in Samnium

Post by batesmotel »

The Utopian Swiss have retreated from Samnium after their second defeat.

Phannagoria/Batemotel (Nueva Castilian) - win
1993/13200 15/44

Utopia/Deeter (Swiss - Burgundian) - lose
3417/7500 28/25

As the battle ended, "I'll be back" was heard from the Utopian side in an apparently Austrian accent!

To your Spanish-speaking ears, it may have sounded Austrian-accented, but in fact it was Swissinator!

Hypoxia was prepared for a bloody battle, but the new recruits of Utopia took little convincing and took flight with a minimum of encouragement. No doubt they will tougher in the next battle.

Indeed. Utopia is merely waiting for its new strengths from PG before proceeding.

Return of the Brave

Post by davouthojo »

Apologies to my opponents during the last 3 weeks......fighting has been sporadic, depending on internet access in cheap hotels.......

One result:

The Clan counter-invasion of Phangoria proved successful.

Attacking Clan Braveheart (Isles & Highlands)
Casualties 6,298/15,900 49/53

Defending Phangoria (Castilians)
Casualties 4,759/13,800 46/46

The Phangorian brought pikes and stiffened by swiss friends proved tougher foes than previously. The highlanders overlapped them to left and right flanks, but the highland left wing paid the price when the entire Phangorian army turned on them as one and wiped them out..........Their brave sacrifice paved the way for victory as the rest of the highlanders, keen for revenge, caught up with the phangorian rear and made them pay.

Will the Phangorians retire to a city, cede or fight again? Which province are we fighting in?

As Peter is indesposed and a new game master has not stepped forwar, I hoping Batesmotel can work out what the strengths should be in a second battle with Hypoxian invaders. Thanks,

Per deeter's request, points for the next battle should be:

Hypoxia: 430
Utopia: 384
