A challenging match of asymmetrical forces. Norman lancers got the worst of initial contacts against elephants and Indian cavalry within archery support until Norman Dismounted Lancers could close into melee and overwhelm their less armored foes. A good game with a formidable opponent.

edb1815 (Crusader 1155-1291 w/ Fatimid Egyptian ally) defeated anderarcos11 (Austrian 1155-1199 AD with German (imperial) allies) 48-18

Both sides built a line of foot around standard wagons. The Crusaders set up in an area of enclosures and rough terrain with mostly defensive foot and missile units. The Austrians advanced with a line of dismounted MAA. The Crusaders had a slight advantage in mounted troops with both HA, Arab Lancers and Knights as well as light cavalry. The Crusaders only option was to win the cavalry battle before the foot knights demolished the lighter Crusader infantry. This is what happened as several Crusader knights were able to flank the Austrian foot. The lancers also caught some raw xbowmen in the open which helped which the Arab Turkomans shot up the supporting spearmen.

Enjoyable game. Well played by my opponent.

My opponent had a promising start with the knights and their mounted Arab allies winning some early disrupts on charges. However they ran out of steam before long and became ground down by long attritional battles with my heavy weapon foot and the bow fire of my highlanders. My numerous infantry also managed to successfully defeat his. Still a close thing, well-played.

mh5064 FRENCH 888-1049 AD with VIKING defeats Ironclad Magyar 830 - 1049 AD 61-41.

A grueling battle in which the Magyars fought with guerilla tactics. They hit and ran and created serious problems for the slow-moving French infantry. After an initial part dominated by the Magyars, the French army organized itself in small groups that surrounded the various opposing units, limiting their mobility and pushing them towards the limits of the map. At that point the enemy was forced either to flee or to engage in battle. The clashes had a favorable outcome for the remaining French units almost at the end of the game turns.

Battle fought by the two armies in a swinging way. Eventually the collapse of some British units allowed the Imperial forces to get the job done.

Questar17 Latin Greece 1205-1311 AD feat Cuman beats TaBai English 1272-1319 AD with Irish 62:52

Tabai made a great a deployment with a massive center with light troops, bowmen and knights in the center and well covered flanks. while i did a focus on flanks a few troops in the center. So by false manuevres on the flanks i strenghed my center while opponent moved so troops on the flanks. At the end of the battle one of the flanks was won by me and another one by the opponent with some combats in the center

mh5064 GERMAN (IMPERIAL) 1200-1319 AD defeats gort7078 Rus 1265-1379 62-41.

Two large woods to right and left with rough terrain interspersed with a long barricade in the center erected by the Rus with archers, spearmen and cavalry behind them awaited the Imperials. A frontal attack would have been suicide for troops and heavy cavalry. Thus the attack of the Imperials concentrated on the left side (right for the enemy) between woods and rough terrain maintaining a rearguard to avoid an attack from behind. The hard fighting in the woods favored the Imperial heavy infantry while the cavalry outmaneuvered their Russian counterparts and counter-attacked in the rear helping the hardened Imperials. A very challenging and hard-fought different battle.

gfs26 Byzantine (Italy) 1050-1071 AD defeats ulysisgrunt Austrian 1200-1319 with Hungarian allies 63-35 (final score 88-35)

A very difficult battle for both armies... in the end, Byzantine had 1/3 more manpower and more cavalry (but weaker)... numbers prevailed, with byzantine Varangian guards doing a great job together with Skutatoi, holding powerful dismounted knights until cavalry arrived and decided the battle.

Alexmike1 Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) beat Tigercub Antigonids 320-301 with Greek 60-44.

Another tough battle. Each side won the fight on a flank with the centre going slightly in favour of the Antigonids. However, the Carthaginians managed to exploit their flank faster, leading to their eventual victory - not before late rallies on both sides prolonged the fight.

Warbands vs romans met on a battlefield with many rough patches and woods.
On the frontline i decided to concentrate more troops as loose warbands, chariots on a flank with rough terrain, some troops in the center and leave another flank with only some light troops and infantry.
While desertedfox filled all frontline with the troops strengthening a center with many legioners.

I attacked quickcly opponent's medium troops by my loose warbands on my left and started to move my other troops from centre to the left, avoiding combats there as much as possible.

Once my warbands broke opponent's medium infantry on my left, they faced lots of legioners moved by desertedfox from the centre.
Having more troops vs legioners, because of flanking attack i could break enough legioners to finalize a game with victory.
